Lampe Berger Lamps - How To Use 

I have a Lampe Berger and have not used it a lot because the oil for it is expensive. But recently found out how to make the oil. It is really not an oil burner, but it is an alcohol burner. And what you do to make the liquid for it is get a bottle of rubbing alcohol from the dollar store and a bottle of essential oil. Recipe is 16 oz of rubbing alcohol to 10 drops of essential oil. Some of the essential oils like frankincense are expensive, but the others are quite reasonable in price.

I’ve been using Lampe Berger for over a decade. I love it and everyone who’s seen mine has love it too. I’ve been ordering it for friends and family for as long as I’ve used it. I didn’t know you can also be a sales representative. I would love to learn how.

Fantastic! Be sure to put the solid cap on after about 20 minutes to keep the oil from evaporating when not in use. Enjoy!

There are 2 things you might want to check: 1. Make sure you didn't fill the lamp more than 2/3 full. It needs air to work. 2. Let the lamp sit with the solid cap on for 20 minutes before you try to light it. The wick needs to soak up the oil to light. Hope that helps!! You should be able to light the ceramic wick. If the above 2 items don't resolve your problem, talk to the store where you bought the lamp. They should be able to help you.

Congratulations Lisa! So glad you love your new lamp. Neutral will definitely help to tone down the fragrance. You can use as much neutral as you like - even all Neutral and just a Tablespoon of fragrance can work. Good luck and enjoy!

Just got my first lamp yesterday and I love it. The scent is a little too strong for the rest of my family so i'm going to buy some neutral oil to tone it down a bit.

After you fill your lamp with oil (no more than 2/3 full) and put the wick in, let it sit with the solid cap on for at least 20 minutes so the wick can absorb the oil. Then try and light it.

Thanks for the video. How big is the lamp you are using? I am shopping and most of them look pretty small where you'd have to refill them very often.

@Hewson60 I have never heard that from any customer or from Lampe Berger. I'll check with them and get back to you. If they say that's true I'll let you know.

How long does it clean the air for after you put the solid cap on? I guess I'm wondering how long does it purify the air for? ...or does it only work when lit? Will it clean the air and last for more than 24 hours or longer?

The lamp will stop burning when the lamp runs out of oil - that is ok. Put more oil in the lamp and let the wick soak again for 20 min before you try to light it again. You should be able to use it again. I'm not sure what you mean by the second question. Make sure the lamp is approx 2/3 full with oil for it to work. The lamp needs air to work so it can't be completely full. Let me know if I didn't answer your question.

If I lost the cap can I buy one.? And how do you know where to stop in a dark bottle?

Hi Sue, I'm pretty much a beginner user with my lampe berger. The only problem I have is the burner. I know now that if you continuously burn the oil until the there is no oil left the burner will dry out. This will cause the burner to disable. Do you have any advise in maintaining the burner so I can re-use again? Also I have 1 burner that can still put a flame on after 2-3 min and after i blow the flame the fragrance cannot sustain with the amount of oil. Thanks.

It’s NOT oil!!!!!!!! Ugh You’re literally misinforming people. It’s alcohol…. That’s why it’s so unique. There’s no flame or soot, because it’s not oil. Please refer to the inventor. Update your video.

Like inkjet printer manufacturers, Lampe Berger makes their money off the scented fragrances. $20+ for 16oz of 90% alcohol?...c'mon! Just buy 91% alcohol at Walmart for $3 and add your own essential oils.
