You can buy the led version of those big lamps, they also use AA or AAA batteries and they last a long time and are very bright because the led bulb is more efficient.
Not sure why this video is in my feed but the newer version of this lantern uses D cell batteries. It is quite hard to find one that only uses 6 volt lantern batteries now.
There is the 4d cell adapter . Better to buy a bunch at Home Depot $4.97 came with 2 batteries and holds up to 4 . Also the hand D cell new LED holds 1 D cell $8.87 2 pk . Very nice if your on a budget
Okay, well don't come complaining when your pissy $3 Petrol Station 9 LED fails because it got water inside because you got stuck in flooded water trying to signal for help or something. Here's a tip, DON'T leave the battery sitting in the Flashlight for long periods. Nowadays, those Lantern take D cells or even AAs.
These batteries are nothing more than four D-cells packed. The adapter for 4-D cells works equally. I prefer to use the adapter and buy D-cells in bulk packs of 24 units (zinc-carbon type). A bulk pack like this, here in my country, costs less than a single 6v battery.
Now watch the video where a guy that took one of those types of lites , switched the bulb out to some type of led and the thing stayed on for weeks . I have the Eveready All American version of that light model # 108 it's an old one and yup , ya gotta keep a good battery in there .
You're not going to get decent shelf life from cheap $5 zinc/carbon Eveready batteries. Get a good alkaline battery like an Energizer and it will last for many years, even with regular use, especially with LED bulbs. If it doesn't explicitly say, "alkaline" it isn't. Yes, they cost twice as much, and you get what you pay for. I have literally forgotten my 6v alkaline flashlight turned on in the garage over night several times, and it's still kicking. I bought it when I moved into this house in early 2016, which is seven years ago as of this writing. Don't bother with cheap batteries. Get the good ones.
Rubbish video because he is too stupid to understand battery chemistry.. Cheap non alkaline type cell like these discharge fast, they are cheap 6V used for traffic signage . Buy high quality 6V cell from varta or duracell and it will last on the shelf for ever The recommended 3xAAA tiny 1usd China flash light is pathetic trash.. all LEDs are wired in s 1:34 eries if one fails, no light, no regulator inside it gets dark with tanking voltage 😂
