LAMY Safari bargain on Shopee. Too good to be true ?

I ordered a bargain LAMY Safari fountain pen going at half the price.
RM38 vs RM100+ (USD10 vs USD25+)
The bargain feels like ummm... well a bargain fountain pen.
Not a LAMY Safari in my opinion.
Buy at your own risk. Not purchasing advise.

Yes, I saw the bargain ones as well. Like you said, too good to be true. So I went to Cziplee in Kajang. They said it's fake. Even if they want to clear their stocks, maybe still around 80-90. Not 30+.

hi...what you're buying is the Petrol Safari? you know how much they're selling on ebay? Bit unusual as it comes with a plastic wrap.

hi. the one that you are comparing to the fake Lamy is a Lamy Al Star which is aluminium bodied and capped pen, with slightly different sized cap, LAMY logo on the body, length and body size. Lamy safari cap cant be used on Al Star. Original Lamy will ALWAYS comes free with 1 BLUE cartridge from the factory not with black ones. i just got the fake lamy for my self this week, just to cure my curiosity on how good is a fake one. i havent fill it though as i have several pens that is inked. The details on the fake one is good and may fool a glimpse eye. I want to test if it is better than my cheap jinhao 599 lamy knockoff, kakuno and several other jinhao pen. Jinhao's nib is quite good and cheap. i am from malaysia too. itchy hands scrolling in shopee and lazada. hahaha.

Thank you for sharing the LAMY AL Star info. Given that its so cheap on Shopee, I was pretty sure people know what they are getting if they actually go buy it.

@@kaychoon bo problem my friend. Informations are free to share :). I have inked the pen and used it for a week. It writes well! Smooth, the converter is working fine. I fooled my friend, letting him admire the beauty of an 'original' pen. Later i confess that it is a fake one, then suddenly he say that , this spot looks not refined, the weight is not up to par blah blah blah. Hahaha. Then i asked him, have you use or own a lamy safari? He said that his father has one. Then i asked him again the same question, the finally he said no. Seeing one and simply used several time may not be a solid foundation on recognizing the fake and original, unless you have it side by side and start comparing. Because only by the looks, i may say it is a 90 to 95 % looks original. Finally we all agreed that it sure pretty damn close. Some people still believes it is a original as some of them didn't even know the price range of these pens and even some of them doesn't even have a clue about fountain pens. Suddenly saw a LAMY, google the brand and decided to buy one.. I loves reading the buyers comment, some of them really thought it is original, some is bashing the seller not selling original product... But if you know the basics as Lamy will only be providing blue cartridge, the price range then you should know which is original or not. But for me, it is a great experience having this pen. Pens are use to write and it writes well. Only the fine nib is not as my pilot fine nib for sure. When write on several cheap copier paper that my office use, the ink feathered happily hahahha. You do know that your original lamy in the video is a Al-star right? Not Safari. There are slight difference from the safari, like the cap and the logo. Although I agree that your bargain pen in this video is a fake lamy.

Well not until recently haha..
