I believe Clark loved Lois, but he didn’t have the same sparkle in his eyes with her that he did with Lana. He asked lana to marry him once, and came close to asking a second time , he wouldn’t have done that if he didn’t believe Lana was the one. The writers forced them apart to make room for Lois.
@@polly12hI agree it always come off as focus with Clark and Lois! Like he knew she was not the one! I don’t know why Lois was that instead of Lana! Even Chloe would’ve been a better choice!
@@lastdayonearthmysteryman4849 I don't see any endgame qualities in CLOIS ship. It sucks that the writers think that the best continuation for Clark Kent of Smallville was him ending with Lois instead of Lana who he had an ups and down moments throughout the Series.
Always will, they're destined to be together, bad writing doesn't change what was written in the stars prior, it just made us not get to see the conclusion we know is right.
@@johnheuslerjr9623 Lana was heartwarming and kind, she had eyes that would light up a room, the writers nearly destroyed her character in S6 and almost half of 7 was dealing with the repercussions of that before she started to get back to her normal self, only for the writers again to do something really odd with her character in S8. Lana was meant to be the girl next door full of charm, strong in her own way yes, but not some sort of super freak with a kryptonite suit. the writers can go to hell for all I care, they ruined Smallville and they ruined Clana. Clana forever! 💓
@@hoppeanofasgard1365Smallville lost his spark when they let go of Lana. I felt that Lana was the heart of Clark before he embraced his superpowers. They could have gone to the story that Lana returns after years and rekindle their relationship but instead they gave us a office romance ending with Lois. And his story with Lois felt redundant.
@@polly12h agreed, 100%, infact it was more than just redundant, it felt almost forced to be honest, and that's kind of because it was. Lana, at least in the Smallville universe was Clark's soulmate, the evidence through the first 8 seasons of this is insurmountable. So to rip that away from him to have a relationship with a women that more or less was cast to act like his big sister for 4 seasons was weird, disappointing, and disgrace to the fandom. For me personally I think the show honestly started going down hill in the later half of S5, for the longest of time I thought at the end of 5 Lana and Clark should have been married and the writers were just dragging out all of this drama for the sake of story telling, anywho, that's just my opinion and it's neither here nor there, but absolutely if they went the rout they did, and everything was the same up until the midpoint of 8, what I would have done is have Clark and Lana researching absolutely everything they could to either get that kryptonite suit off, or to drain it of it's radiation, and then have them come up with an answer on how to do that in season 9, and finally they get back together and get married then. there was no need for Lois, Lois was boring, brash and lacked the elegance of Lana's charm. I will forever hate the writers for robbing us of a Clark & Lana endgame in the series. quite frankly when ever I get in the mood to rewatch Smallville I make it a point not to watch season 9 and 10, to me it just feels like an entirely different show, Clark lost his heart after Lana, and the show lost an amazing character, and it just pivoted away in so many ways both related and unrelated to the Clark and Lana relationship that it was jaring and felt weird. Thanks for your heartfelt reply, I love these discussions with people like you because I still feel like this is an unresolved thing, and maybe somehow someway if enough fans talk about it, and want it we might get a Smallville movie to come in and correct most or all of these issues, a sort reboot of the last two seasons condensed down in a film with a drastically different story and where Lana and Clark end up together. Given Tom and Kristin's age, they'd probably have to start it off showing the events of S8 as it went down with them and then say 10 years later and just give a tiny bit of backstory of Clark grieving those 10 years over the loss of his love and never doing any of things he did in S9 and 10, and basically just chilling on the farm, but then his heart returns and he's together with Lana again and that actually brings his spirt back up to be the hero he was destined for, or something like that haha. anyways we can dream right. Clana forever, we know what's right and true. ☺❤ Take care

at :20 was great scene lana looks back off porch and smiles thinking Whitney returned the necklace but it was Clark, & :58 after Lana says Yes I always recall her giggle when Clark lifts her; 2:00 so great episode Hidden when see each other; 2:46 Why aren't you dressed Lana says; I want to remember this moment; 3:56 'Calling' their first kiss without some weird thing going on; & to end with episode 'Mortal' their first time. Music in series was best.

Like many I assumed it was always Clois together without question cause that's how the story goes, and for me I couldn't wait to see Clois together in Smallville and eventually Metropolis when this showed was announced. Until this show graced us with Clana, the most iconic and deeply in love two people I have ever seen together... Clark and Lanas chemistry was unbelievably INSANE... idk at any time two fictional characters who weren't destined to ever be together were able to divide and change the hearts of the audience and became more powerful than the couple of the original story. I'm not sure if that was the writers intentions to make Clana so good together but My God did they give us a masterpiece for 8 seasons. The last two don't count :p
