Honeymoon has the most meticulously controlled production out of all her albums. Hearing only the instrumental of Music To Watch Boys To is like a cinematic ride. Literally every song sounds like it’s title, and it feels like it has the most focus out of all her albums.

I find it so interesting that many hear laughter rather than crying. I do hear a heartbreaking cry, it goes more along with the humor of an italian mob like sound environment to me. Plus, the luxurious and richness of the storytelling that Lana puts in the Lyrics. I've always pictured this song with a rich wife who's in love with the lifestyle that this gangster man is bringing to her. Also when she sings 'Medellin, tangerine dreams' it's for the quality of materials that her husband gets to work with. So, I do hear crying for all the violence that many have to suffer so this couple get to live a tangerine dreams life.
To me when I hear "medellin tangerine dreams" I just picture this drug trafficant that dreams to be the next Pablo Escobar. Since the song is undoubtedly about a woman in love with a trafficant it makes sense I think. And the lavish lifestyle he gives her etc
for some weird reason at 3:22 all the way to the dramatic buildup of the bridge, i can envision some girl about to head into battle. the soft piano playing is basically her thoughts and emotions at war with each other, like "i can't believe i'm about to do this, this shouldn't even be happening" and whatnot. basically she's thinking back to all the good memories and the remarkable things she's done in her life before the battle gates slowly open, and this is the part of the song that leads into the heavy buildup. right at around 3:53, cannons blast right into the girl's team as war is finally declared.

The monotone almost sadistic sobbing and cackling really adds a dark and somber undertone to an otherwise very pleasant and beautiful song, it balances everything out, you have Lana singing these beautiful lyrics with an Italian flare in the chorus, and then a haunting and dark instrumental in the background...but it sounds so good
My biggest theory on this is that Lana (in this song) is either dying or growing desperate to have her lover with her. That’s why she keeps calling on Salvatore to come to her. The dark voices sound like her agonizing her desperation. It’s a romantic song but also heartbreaking.
