i absolutely love the vibe of Lanas music and her voice, theres some old hollywood movie vibes but still contemporary btw Angelina Jordan has a killer cover of this as well and of Lanas born to die

This song was supposed to be a track from her Paradise album but it went to the movie. I think we can listen to this from Gatsby's P.O.V. Lana just happens to be singing it.

She's my top 3 favorite

I think it fits to the story. Lana is Daisy and aware she wants the image of him (even her lyrics match her thoughts), and she even confesses in a way through the whole song. She's aware that he loves her, and the whole time she never says she loves him back, but treats him for the visual as just what she sees but never sees passed or through his image. In the end she is asking if he will still love her when she isn't young and beautiful, because he loves her youth and beauty (it's when he fell in love with her which is the reference here). And she's asking if he will still love her when all she has left is her aching soul ... I think, this might be her own revelation of her own feeling of emptiness and pain, which is ugly. In her mind. The whole song is tragic like the book, and like the book this has Gatsby's heartache all over, it's his heartache that we feel when the orchestra goes up and down, those deep strings and crecendo like drops I think are him, the backdrop to her lyrics. This song is like many other songs where the stunning vocals and visuals of the singer and video act like a hook to grab the audience, but the lyrics say it all.

I think this song maybe from daisy's perspective. If you see in the the great gatsby, they played it with daisy present. It portray the insecurities of the female characters have.

i disagree. I think its a perfect song for the Great Gatsby. Lana said in an interview that she was asked to write a song for Daisy. And maybe in the book Daisy was nicer than she was portrayed in the movie.
