I was a teenager back in the 70s when Lance and his wife were attending Gateway Bible College, he would come to our camp meetings and visit the different pentecostal churches in the STL area, we teens loved him when he got up and played his music and spoke, he was the real deal, nothing false about him

Though he knew I meant no harm, he took me by the arm and said, "Son, what religion are you?" 3) On the job I never say a word. I figure they all know I go to church. But when my boss man asked me in for a tonic and some gin, I began to think, "Perhaps he hasn't heard." So I said, "No sir, I am not the drinking kind! Excepting for a thing they call new wine!" As he lost his cigar smoke, it seemed like he would choke. I proceeded to explain it one more time. +Marty Mostyn Imagine the music in heaven now! I remember in Bible school, being able to sing this song all the way through, at the same tempo Lance did, was a status symbol. His in-laws lived next door to the old NYS UPC camp, so we'd get to see him and Merna whenever they were home for a visit. Absolutely the most unconventional, honest, down-to-earth man of God I ever met. I remember one time he was going to be preaching at a church, and when it came time for him to preach, they announced him, but then couldn't find him. Turns out he was laying underneath the back pew speaking in tongues! He marched to the drummer he heard, but I can tell you... that drummer was the Holy Ghost. Some of the songs from his first album also helped me through the darkest times in my life, particularly The Lights of Home (every time I hear it, I swear I can see those lights) and Psalm 27.

Started listening to this when I first got in the ACTS 238 message back in 1978, been singing all of his music ever since, I even play some of his oldies in my radio broadcast! Great stuff!
He used to show up at my church like once a year I loved it he'd stay for a few days too it was really fun when ever he came he's funny too good person going to miss him very much prayers to his family and friends well all see each other again

I learned this song at a VERY early age. Lance Appleton was there for a revival at the church my mom went to before I was born in St. Louis, MO....must've been in the early 70s or so. And my mom still has the record from back then. My children love it too :)
Bro. Lance is the one that originally wrote and performed/recorded it. He is the assistant pastor at my home church. He's one heck of a guy, a real warrior of God.

Lance Appleton you are one of my favorite you taught me true worship in the upc at age 11 this train and then you lean your song one God to TCM our first album never forget you awesome inspiration in my life then David and the gains had you on their album upper room experience God loves all your great work to his name like me keep putting Satan to shame love you one of my favorites because you taught me real worship to my God Jesus Christ no one else I was raised UPC it took you that taught me worship live god from my heart was you love you my testimony throughout eternity

I use to have this song except it had another verse. The last verse was when he got real fast and he talked about walking across Wal-Mart parking lot when someone asked him what religion he was and he said I'm stillllll aaaaa....
