Sri Lanka's first innings total of 95 was its lowest against South Africa - home or away. This obliterated the previous lowest of 122 at Centurion in 1997-98.
It was also the fourth lowest total for Sri Lanka in all Test matches. The lowest still remains 71 against Pakistan at Kandy in 1994-95 followed by 82 against India at Chandigarh in 1990-91 and 93 against New Zealand at Wellington in 1982-83 .
Sri Lanka in first innings had lost its first four wickets with only 13 runs on the board which was its lowest score at the fall of four wickets. The previous lowest was 14 against New Zealand at Kandy in 1983-84.
