Lance, you're doing superb! Seeing you learn these tricks definitely helps me tell myself that i CAN skate! I can't wait to see how you do with your popshuvs and kickflips!
What really got me to learn this trick was just practicing bs reverts. (spinning around a 180 on the ground without popping your board). When you feel like you've got that down in speed you just add a little pop and it should be pretty simple.
My board shot under me two weeks ago and I landed on my waist. Bruised and couldn't skate for 3 days. Tried again this week and then landed a BS 180. So happy when it happened! Gotta try it some more!
the thing i like about Lance is that he never looks annoyed that he hasn't landed his trick he always looks like he is motivated and that he is enjoying himself. :)
Is it normal that Lance is progressing that fast? I feel really untalented seeing him accomplish the things I'm trying for weeks in a couple of tries... :/
It's cool bro, Chris Chann took a year to Ollie. Some just progress faster than others. And having help from a guy who knows what he's talking about helps A LOT.
Lance bro, you actually really helped me out here. I have the same problem as you had. Now I finally know what to do to for my BS 180s. (I was to shy to ask someone)
Jake Boarding Try doing fs 180 kickturns. When you get those consistently and confidently add a small pop to em and you should have it :P. Or try practicing a pop shuvit with one foot and then turn 180 until you get confident. Who knows, just mix it up until you nail it ;)
I have been trying all basic tricks I did them up to kick flip but then my board broke I took a break and now I have to use my first skate board , and now u can't do any old tricks.its tiny 7in by 28in I'm 5 10 with big feet is this reason why I stopped progressing/ had to start over again?
Hey aaron id like to ask how you do your bs 180s in mid air you pivot it late its so hard to explain but i wanna know how to do it that way so i can get them higher and make them look better
Theres 2 ways. Where you ollie and just turn quick so its like a late 180. The other way is doing that but later and then you revert (spin on the wheels) as you land (you have to have the spin motion going however);
I can't even get close to FS 180's, but when i BS 180 I get a lot closer, but my backfoot always goes straight to the ground. I can ollie well so i'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. :/
Hipstergram Something that I always have to get through my head is bending my back knee. My front leg is always bending because it's doing the flicking motion on the board so naturally it gets lift. I always have to concentrate on jumping up with and bending my back leg or the leg that pops. I skate regular so that would be my right leg. Normally I have an issue jumping with my back leg as well when I'm doing something I don't feel comfortable committing to, so I always try to land a trick with just my front foot on my front bolts with my back leg off, and then my back foot on my back bolts with my front leg off. It really makes you working on getting you to land with your back foot. Good luck to ya :)
Lance, I fully support you and your skating! You're going to be so good is so little of time! You're lucky you have Aaron live to teach you. I'd be like praying to the scythe lord for that. Never stop skating. You're doing majestic.
I did, but I'm going to be posting some in the up coming season, so I can get back into the groove of things xD Life is difficult right now :p Skate-II-EDM
I can Ollie, frontside 180, and kickflip sometimes. The two things I have trouble with is Ollie over board that is standing up and Ollie over curb. Another thing I have trouble with is this backside 180.
Skateboard Nerd its all in your head man. commitment is the hardest part of skateing. once you ' i guess fall or almost land it' your mind will basically adapt and the fear will be gone
I prefer to do stuff in this sequence to learn. FS 180 to to fake BS 180 to BS shuvit. Then starting with a BS 180 to Fake FS 180 to FS shuvit. It feels like a funky fresh flow that way, you get what I say?
Anyone else notice Lance is all tensed up in newer videos.. balling up his fists etc. In these older videos he is more loose. Maybe he feels pressure now and didn't when he first started.
yes that is why I commented.. it seems strange he would tense up later on instead of at first. I saw him comment on a video that he couldn't stop balling his fists up. But he's not doing it in these early videos.
The way I think of it is for most of our lives we've walked forwards and that is why Front 180 is more comfortable. We can walk backwards, but it's a little weird, especially on a skateboard. I mean, if we developed in a way were we would walk backwards for most of our lives then I'm sure Back 180 would be more comfortable than Front 180.
In my mind, I think frontside 180s are easier. But my body seems to be better at backside 180s. I landed fs 180s from a bumb in 4 tries and a bs 180 in 2 tries.
The super weird is when you landing on front side of your truck LEANING and fall slam hard hahahaha you know what i mean ;D unlike frontside 180 you can still manage to avoid fall hard if you landing way leaning back.
No lol. FS and BS 180s, then shove its, kick/heels, etc. Double Tre is way down the line lol. Have to have double kickflip and normal tre down to do double tre.
Cmon! Just learn a small backside powerslide 180 first to make the body turn with the board. Then add the ollie once the sliding feels easy. The very same for fs ollies.
Lance, that whas awsome!! I still can't do a bs (trying for like half a month) I know that it sound like it's little but I just started skating advanced!
Hey Aaron I just found a pair of shoes online that look identical to your shoes. They are called Adidas Varial Mid. Are they the same as yours? Thanks :)
I'm surprised Aaron didn't tell Lance to straighten out his front foot on his ollie motion. That was the main problem at the beginning since his foot was angled like one would angle there foot on a kickflip he would loose control of the board.
so aaron, do you do every single trick you know how to do everytime you skate? i mean , im not saying i have doubts, but you know a bundle of tricks so i feel like your being kind of a hypocrit.
Lance you are doing awesome and Arron I need help on getting my Ollie's way higher I can get them like a foot high but I want to get on to ledges and I need help
