Same. There's something going on to do with the timing earlier on in the combo that affects how high/low your opponent is, sometimes even if the light comes out on the first possible frame it won't land.

I just try to dothe whole combo as fas t as possible. Until u get to the light into heavy part where u gotta time it. But honestly even then it only works 50% of the time.

I've got this down very consistently now, what it comes down to is that your juggled opponent needs to be as high in the air as possible, and then it's much easier to land the standing light into heavy. Because there's no input leniency on the standing light it can be as tight as a one frame link (or not possible to connect at all) if you do previous portions of the combo too late. So after they rebound off the wall with EX blade Impulse you need to hit heavy as soon as possible. Then you need to wait until the second hit of the heavy, and as soon as possible cancel into medium Southern Cross (2 hits). When cancelling execute the second hit as soon as possible to keep the opponent as high in the air as you can. I found that using the simple input shortcut lets me get this cancel off quickly more reliably. If you do all of this correctly, basically as quickly as possible, the connection on the light isn't that hard at all. It feels like it's a 2 or 3 frame window, and then I believe the link into st.h is a 2 frame also. So the combo is a little tricky but not as tricky as it first appears. What I've also found in Granblue is that this is something that you cannot mash, the game actively punishes you with timing for mashing (unlike street fighter where I find mashing or double pressing helps a lot in certain circumstances). So it's best to grind out the muscle memory for this. It took me about 4 hours to get it down. Obviously I still drop it sometimes but crucially I know why I drop it, I can see if I mess up the earlier steps and then I can actually adapt the combo.

Yeah I managed to get it down somewhat consistently too. My problem was that i was mashing the light after the back special. Making them miss half the time. But you actually have a split sec to press it. It doesn't have to be incredibly fast. And yeah I also feel like the game punishes players for mashing their buttons. You pretty much HAVE to time them. But at least the timing isn't all too hard.@@Chronospherics

Why not try using simple inputs for that particular skill, it'll probably help with your consistency

@@DKPrime_ i think its just my controller tbh. if i do 623h instead it comes out 100 percent of the time

It should still connect. Maybe try different timings, I used to play the trumpet so i'm always making a beat in my head to help with timings, maybe that's something that'll work for you. But it will take time and practice
