When this movie came out it was reported that members of the cast and crew tried to run the gauntlet without success. It was stated that Richard Gere was a superb athlete and only he could navigate it to the end. I remember thinking that he had a walk like a panther, very unique, and I must say, sexy!😊😊

Nothing unusual about that. Marriages were just a form of politics in those days. Daughters belonged to their fathers and they married who their father told them to if it benefitted their family. Love had nothing to do with it. Back in medieval times Kings would be marrying women who would be considered underage today.

Then, he told her that he will never kiss her until she asks him to do ... when he won the kiss from the game, he wanted to keep his promise and never kiss her is she doesn't ask him ... She refused to ask him to kiss her, so he kept his promise and didn't kiss her..

Meh. Loads of U.S. actors who act well in period pieces, Gere is simply not one of them, always played a version of himself regardless the setting and time.
