12 hours. And that was only with Lancer trying to lock Gil down.

It took 12 hours because gilgamesh doesn’t care he was just throwing random weapons which cu counters with protection from arrows disengage and Battle continuation Cu wasn’t called the best defensive fighter for nothing especially if his enemy is a long range fighter because unless the long range attack explodes on impact it gets canceled by protection from arrows this was the main reason archer emiya only used arrows onces against him and that was only to give himself breathing time

@@crash-testproductions9341 uh dude what is you point i literally called him the best defensive fighter which he was stated to be in the extra verse where he stalled altera to the point she was weak enough to be beaten by regalia nero Also he didn’t fight a army for weeks before death tying himself he fought 1 person per day that was his agreement with medb and he lived way past that war after the war he released medb and had peace for a time until cunnlan who is killed and later was trapped by medb with making him break multiple geass he made and killed him with her army Archer is nowhere near cu level i kmow that the main reason he even lived in there first encounter was because cu was under a command spell and in there second cu just stopped after he found out archers plan also archer in extra AKA his strongest base version was weaker then gawain who was equal to cu Against artoria in there first encounter he would have won if not for the seal kirei gave to not kill in a servant fight At no point of my first comment i ever even downplay cu I just said why lasted that long and how he countered gilgamesh’s normal attacks and archers arrow attack His whole skill kit is for survival Battle continuation to last long in battle Disengage to restart a encounter if needed Protection from arrows to limit long range attacks And runes to buff his stats create a shield or buff his NP Even his ireland limited NP is a fortress

Caster and Archer are legitimately the same dude, Gilgamesh himself says that he just chooses to act like a wise King as caster. In Fgo Materials, it's been stated that Gilgamesh views Cú as his polar opposite (in terms of kingship), and thus, he hates Cú on a fundamental level

Ruler Gil always comes off as Archer Gil to me but just in a perpetually good mood. I guess people in 17th century Japan come closer to meeting his tolerance than people in the 21st century. Ruler Gil still has too much overt swagger and arrogance to be like Caster Gil. That's not to say that Cas Gil has zero pride or arrogance, but to me, Cas Gil's dominant way of speaking feels much, much less condescending and even a tiny bit affectionate toward who he's speaking to - in his own Gilgamesh kind of way. It's less like he's "looking down on you" like Archer Gil does, but more like he's strictly nudging you toward a path he approves of. Ruler Gil is something of an in-between. He's still too haughty and arrogant to be Caster Gil, but he's more relaxed and happier than Archer Gil.

Gilgamesh held back while fighting Iori. Doesn't mean his pride would let him lose against uncollared mongrel

I'm not at this stage yet, but Iori is still fighting with Saber by his side, I suppose.

​​@chairmajesty3514 If we're going to split hairs about restraint, any time Gil doesn't whip out Ea, he's holding back. I'm just not used to Gilgamesh "admitting" defeat and being in a good mood about it regardless, as he was with Iori after Iori and Saber pass his test.

Yeah he does meet Gil in the Saber route. In the VN they fight but it’s off screen while in the anime it’s only for about 2 minutes or so.

​@part-timestudentofswordnoo1812 their fight has actually been stated to have been 12 hours. Cú put up a good fight too, dealing some "severe" damage by Nasu's words. In UBW he does know of Gil's existence, but not his connection to Kotomine.

​@@valenschristianyosua Yes really, though do keep in mind Gilgamesh is a walking cheat code, even more so in FSN. It's likely he healed himself with an item in GOB, or most likely he used the Mana from the orphans in the basement to accelerate his own natural recovery.
