Why does everyone in the comments expect a brand that has been dead for YEARS to suddenly come back to life with their OWN car and start straight in Rally2? Let’s be realistic. I’m glad they’ll be back in amongst the names on the leaderboards, they have to start somewhere!
As Italian i'm utterly deluded. It's not a rally return at all (Rally 4 is a customized rally category). And thinking about what Lancia was, today compared with that s"""ty PSA engine (the Puretech) my eyes are dropping blood tears.
It's criminal how Lancia was neglected after the Delta. Some of the most iconic cars in motorsport and they turned it into italian Lada. Glad some people took it on themselves to restomod and recreate Delta's and 037's. just wished Fiat Chrysler group had the same drive, belief and passion when they owned it. . All the things that gave Lancia a bad rep in the 20th century no longer an issue with modern computer aided manufacturing technology and corrosion prevention, so no excuse now.
@@SHIREDRIFT Exactely, thinking that once there was road cars like the Lancia Thema, that was fitting a Ferrari engine...and thinking to now, it makes me cry. Sadly the nephew of Gianni Agnelli (previous FIAT owner) that is also now the Ferrari president John Elkan, selled the FIAT group (so Alfa Romeo, FIAT, Lancia and Maserati) to French of PSA at first, where the French had the "wonderful" idea to take some Chrysler 300 and rebrand them Lancias (an hit on my heart) and then selling the whole group to Stellantis, that is French controlled. A mere business man ruined everything.
@@androidhammer5307 Exactely, that's why it's not a real rally return. French have basically rebranded a Peugeot 208 with the Lancia brand and made it for private rally people. Shame on them.
Everyone is eating this up like it's a big deal. This feels just as pathetic as Mitsubishi's current line of Ralliart cars -- go look them up if you want to cry some more. Like why even bother? These manufacturers are all just buying into the hype of their predecessors for marketing.
As a longtime Gran Turismo and Sega Rally fan, so nice to see Lancia finally returned in FIA WRC! I hope Rovanpera could move to Lancia WRC if they do RETURNED.
But Rally4 is almost invisible. I watch WRC and Rally2 (or is it WRC2?) gets a passing mention but that's it. In fact I have never even heard of Rally4 so I can't think they will sell that many cars off the back of this.
This is really grassroots rallying, not earning them any TV airtime 😒 First of all, their road cars will need to reflect their rally ambitions, including ICE and all. And second, most important, they’ll need a long breath to revive the brand. We’ll see...
Will never be like before, in 70s and 80s they could design the car how ever they want, testing crazy ideas. The most saddest part the new Lancia car not even close looks like Lancia Delta
This car is offensive for the glorious past and héritage of Lancia. 3 cilinder, forward traction is a shame! Stellantis leadership is absolutly ignorant or, even worst, want to bring Lancia to dissolution as a strategy.
Lancia has been dead since decades now. When Fiat dismantled the racing team and pull it out from the races, the brand died and the soul behind it is gone forever. That in the video is a Peugeot, a giant insult for the brand and for all the italians. Fukin' disgusting.
It better not be an Electric Vehicle.. I can't view EV'S. Won't be able to jump they will catch fire, and ever hear of out of pocket cost of EV Battery Packs on the Hyundai Ionic. It is $61,000 there are 2 videos, and warranty won't cover it and Insurance calls it a total loss. Due to damage on the belly pan. I'll never buy EVs, and I wouldn't accept one if you gave me one either. V8 Forever
why can't manufacturers make decent cars anymore? whos designing this crap? only audi and mercedes make good looking cars these days. even bmw have gone downhill.
@@SylvesterOziomek Which website specifically, my friend? They don't currently sell any cars small enough to fit the WRC World car profile. I'm aware that a few teams use the current fat WRX for domestic rallying, but it's not competitive with an R2 car 🤷
Lancia has been non-existent since 1969. The Lancia technical office survived for a few years, but was then completely absorbed by Fiat. That is not a Lancia, let's be clear!! It is an assembly of a PSA group chassis, with a ridiculous French engine, full of defects. I hope they stop using brands that have made the history of racing for commercial ideas in bad taste.
