Well I already bought a like 25€ case for a cousin who really didnt want to spend much for the old computer and it even included a 450W crap power supply lol but the quality sucked so bad as off course... Anyway the quality of this case is not that special, but the case is OK, it has super crazy airflow specially with 2 good top 140mm fans with high airflow, the ARGB looks cool even though I use it off, but has some faults which is the leds controller suck and use the reset button (so no reset button) and I don't think there's anyway to control fan speeds so if you have to connect extra fans in it you might end up with a jumbo jet :(... My old case was like 180€ back in 2005 and is a Thermaltake Kandalf the super tower anb I fully modded it to orange and black and cut a new side window, it looks amazing and the quality is off course miles better, to make holes in it I had to go with a friend with an industrial driller because my driller wasn't working and hell even the industrial driller was loosing power and not cutting much good, the case alone is 20KG of pure steel. Anyway with this new case I have like 10Cº less than my older HUGE HEAVY case with 2x 120mm fans in front, 1 120mm + 1 90mm on the back and another 90mm on the top but I have 2x 140mm ARGB fans on top of this new case (the main difference for the temps is really that the motherboard is on the top compared to bottom on my old case so the upper fans were only extracting cold air and basically only the 120mm on the back would push hot air out which now the motherboard is on top closer to the fans on the new case so both the back 120mm and 1 of the top 140mm are really efficient at removing hot air). ps: You can either go with this case or Nox Hummer Nova (this is the actual case I have), they are basically the same case with minor differences and maybe there are even more same cases, this is probably some random Made in China case where brans just label and chose what they want in it...
"It feels so cheap." It is so cheap. That's the one downside. If it looks good, has great temps, and good specs... I'd be completely fine if it "feels" cheap... because it is cheap.
If I didn’t already get the 500dx and was more concerned with lowering the budget on my build this is incredibly compelling. A lot of cases only include a single small fan in the back so the actual price of the case is skewed, but this has large decent fans with rgb!
@@ultradmx fans that come with cases are usually very low quality compared to say retail fans. Even though they do the job, they are very cheaply produced, and the rgb is clearly low quality just look at the hotspots.
Its a nice solution to somoeone on a stock cpu cooler xD then after those 200mm get a lil dust and offset and eventually die you can run an aio then oc cpu...if vrm and ram are permitting among chipset
Idk Dimitri. This seems like a SWEET case for 69$. 3 fans, WITH rgb, fan hub, dust filters, airflow focused, simple layout with good compatability. Ofcourse it's not gonna feel like a premium 200$ aluminium case, it's 69$ 😮 Is there even a case that offers this much for a similar price?
I think he's just warning those with unrealistic expectations that the case misses some premium quality of life features like better cable management and build quality (specially if you have had previous lian li cases). Cost cutting measures were made but still bloody good case.
Yeah it's the fingerprints but also the cable management, but come on, it's just 69 dollars. THAT'S INSANE! And, why tf do u care about fingerprints. It takes about 1-2 min to clean it and why tf do u care about some cables u dont even see. Ok, it maybe is hard if u switch some parts, but come on. That's not even a problem. So idk. I think it's an ez W to buy this case for 69 dollars.
I recently retired my evolv for an Antec NX800. Wish I had waited a tad longer to see this case review, since it was hard for me to get a hold of the Lancool II mesh at regular price.
Dimitri, I feel as if you are being too harsh in this review. This case looks amazing for its price. I am sure it will sell well. I have a Meshify C and I am considering this case over it...
This is a great entry budget case in my opinion. Like others have said it offers excellent cooling, spacious realistate to house water cooling accessories, and some bling bling.. We all cant afford high end handouts thats sent to you Demitri.
Idk, going to have to disagree. Can’t say to build quality, which is something you harped on, but a case with 2 rgb 200mm fans with included controller, a tempered glass side panel, dust filters, and rubber grommets seems like they hit the “important to have” features for a great price. Cases that usually add most of those extras have a $30 markup like NZXT or Corsair. As always, production quality is top notch, love you guys.
Definitely. Not quite sure what "premo" features this case is lacking that isn't fluff. Only reason I wouldn't get it is if you're big budget already and cheaping out on the case isn't that important. But even then, there's few cases that can compete with the thermals of P500A and Lancool Mesh II, let alone being so cheap, with all this space to put everything you want in it.
@@draco89123 The IO can be a bit lacking, just two usb 3.0s, would have been nice to see a 3.1/3.2 on there. Agreed a great budget friendly case though.
Big channels will only appreciate premium products more and easy! and the production quality of this channel is very good so, basically they prefer the premium more than price to performance!
@@dookcurruff9047 I dont give a damn fck about the look of the PC. It needs to be powerful and good cooling, that's all. Why would you look at your PC?
I have this case. I love it. I've had many others in the past and I have to say this one is a very good case. Plenty of room, very quiet fans that do keep it very cool. Cable management is not perfect, but it works and it's all in the back, and you don't see it. I don't think you gave this case a good chance on your review. It's not perfect, but it is a great case.
Yeah what's wrong with this guy, he complains about the smallest most inconsequential things. To my eyes the case does not look cheaply built at all and in gearseekers high quality 4K footage video, the case looks great. Peoples expectations and their definition of quality has come a long way since i used to build in the 90's and 00's in Lian li's older aluminium cases. But you pay huge amounts for what you are getting. Even horrible old stainless steel cases back in the day that were supposedly premium did not get the most important things right. Lian Li were ahead then and were the go to case for modders and enthusiasts. They just work, and do a good job of cooling. And they had the features most people will need. And they were light but strong and tough. Function over Form is what we need, Lian Li gives us this. Not great looks with premium cases that cost a lot, look blingy but actually underperform and aren't thought out well and well, kill your hardware. Lian Li has always been at the top of the list for quality, value, function and form with premium features, and in the past, Lian Li innovated way past some of the rubbish from other brands. Back then, cases from other manufacturers were not on Lian Li's level at the same price point. Lian Li were always leading the way. I think this guys expectations is too high and he is being ultra unrealistic with ultra expensive cases. Does this guy even know the history of Lian Li. They were the best cases out there. And they will be again. The quality from a Lian Li will be more than adequate. It does not look cheap. My Coolermaster H500M is an expensive case, but one could say Coolermaster looks a little cheap with all the plastic. To me the Lian Li looks nice, and looks built well as it will be from Lian Li for the money you are paying. The features this case has are incredible considering what you are getting. I have seen upclose 4K video shots better than what this channel has captured, and the case looks very well built to me. It's a bargain. And i would buy this case from a known leader in premium quality cases industry in a flash than buy from some other brand. But i already have my H500M unfortunately. This case tempts me to buy.
Those fans should be praised way more. That's a HUGE addition in value. Most builds won't need more than that much airflow and they are ARGB, so you don't even have to worry about customization down the line.
Crazy good deal for $69 and it comes with 2 200mm ARGB fans?!? Dang. Making CoolerMaster look super pricey. Nice job Lian Li. Killin it lately. +1 to all the comments that said you were too harsh and this deserves a serious review.
This is a direct competitor to the Antec NX800! If only I had waited a week. Everything matches with the Lian Li except the NX800 supports 140mm in the rear, glass panel has handle points, and PSU shroud is a solid cover with less clearance for thick rads. Oh but the NX800 is to 20 USD higher.
I thought your overall review of this was somewhat lazy. A six plus minute review? Sure, there is not a lot to it but still... It's a $69 case from one of the base case manufacturers. Of course it is going to cut corners compared to premium cases, but from what I saw it still delivered incredible value, especially with 2 x front 200mm fans AND a rear fan? And a hub? A lot of cases in this price category, you're lucky two get one, let alone even two 120mm generic 3 pin fans. Good airflow, great temps, overall pretty decent support for anything you might put in it. Clearance at top and front for anything you might want. Looking at this, this looks to be a great case at a great price...
What information did you find absent from this video? I always appreciate feedback from viewers but c'mon, a short-to-the-point piece doesn't merit your definition of "lazy". -D.
@@HardwareCanucks Personally I always like to hear max cpu cooler height and GPU length. I just didn't understand that you didn't seem more enthusiastic, The front would have been nicer in metal and it doesn't have that many features but it seems to do the basics very good.
Thinking of picking one of these up honestly. For the price the airflow is great and I'm a huge sucker for 200mm fans. Call it dumb or what, but I love the big industrial look of them on a case. And this just pips the H500 for me.
I'm surprised you released this review. It's not available yet and other reviews have been asked to be taken down by Lian Li. I've been waiting for this case for months! I was hoping it would of been the same quality as the 2 mesh. I really like the 200mm fan look.
i actually have this case housing my new gaming computer and i love it , the air flow and temperature are fantastic even when playing games like battlefield etc.
@@godwin- depends on the game and ur internals im running the following inside mine and when playing bf4 on ultra im sittings at 65 degrees, with the fans at i believe 1200 rpm obviously increasing fans speed or adding more fans would benefit all this and with 3dmark it never went over 68 degrees during any benchmarkings. i can play and uplaod and watch youtube all at the same time never seen the temp higher than 68degrees tuf-z390 mother board 16 gb ddr4 3000hz ram i9-9900kf rtx 2060 6gb 3tb storage frostflow 150 2 extra standard 120 fans with speed controls set up 1 top and 1 rear.
@@utuberavensg2051 wow that's some nice temps, even for more recent titles like bf2042 or rdr2 or whatever, I assume the difference won't be thaaat big, around 70-75 probs. thanks for answering!
Wow, a real successsor to the CM HAF 212 I have been using since 2011, low cost, no nonsense, high air flow. Great for budget builds with headroom for OC via improved airflow down the line
I am using this case for 2 years and it is one of the best cases in that size. 200m fans are MVP. The only difficulty I met is to install 280mm on top (arctic LF2 is too thick)
This is actually a decent case, if this came out last year I'd have bought this instead of the H500M. Especially now that GPU anti sag brackets / stand are actually easy to buy products and extremely cheap. Back then they didn't even exist I looked for almost 3 years (I bought the RX480 in 2017 Feb) couldn't find a single one.
just finished installed this case. Gotta say its incredible. My GPU temp drops from 75 - 80 C to like 60-65 C under load. Yeah my previous case was shitty with little in
I have the CM H500 and I love the building experience on it, alongside the very low noise and cool temperatures. This case looks promising, but I miss the upper handle and higher feet the H500 has. Still, a nice option for people wanting performance in a budget.
Great review. Straight to the point and at this price point, I look forward to getting my hands on one. I'd also be interested to see how this case performs with the 200mm Noctua's.
Yes but you need more exhaust fans than that single one or the warm air will be trapped in the case, to somewhat balance out that 2 200 mills you need at least 3 120 mills exhaust Leaving it like this and warm air can't get out fast enough
For a price like this with 2 fans 200mm each its a must buy. I bought one for 100usd and temps are low as hell with 7600x and 3080ti I use 1 rear 120mm exhaust fan , 1 down 120mm exhaust fan , 2 fans 140mm above as exhaust and 2 fans of 200mm as intake
Sure the feel of a case is nice and all but in the end after building the system the only other times you are really going to touch it is when pressing the power button, plugging something in, doing some maintenance or doing a upgrade. In none of these the feel of the case matters (maybe pressing the power button but still) all that really matters is good performing case that doesn't stand out or is an eyesore.
Hey man great video! Would you consider doing a VS comparison with this case and the Montech Air X ARGB? They are eerily similar in design. I have the latter case and I love it but this case is enticing.
Just curious if you could talk about the air cooler clearance. You have the Dark Rock 4 in there (is it close to the pane?), would the Dark Rock Pro 4 or the Noctua NH-D15 fit? The Lian Li Spec sheet seems to say there is 1mm of space for the NH-D15.
I got this coolermaster masterbox 311L which was gifted to me and haven't used yet. Searched a bit on youtube for its reviews but it's seems there's only a few and a bit limited information wise. So...any chance you got to review it, maybe, in the near future?
7 inches from the PSU cover isn't enough to install a radiator properly. If you want to install a 360mm on the front, you will have to install it incorrectly, (with the cables on top)
Slighty sad you didn't do a noise test for those fans. I think one of those would look great in my Corsair 380T. I am still doubting if I should buy a black Noctua fan for the silence or if I want to go RGB. Any recommendations on reasonably quiet 200mm RGB fans with a decent RGB look?
Fans are aRGB but are 3 pin 5v plugs. If your mobo only has 4 pin 12v you'll have to get a convertor in order to plug in and have software control over the fans. Otherwise you can just run the fan rgb directly from the hub and cycle through the preset colors and patterns with the button on the case. That's currently what I'm doing. Still contemplating whether or not it's worth it to get the 5v to 12v convertor.
So does this case have better radiator compatibility than the mesh ii? Also, I feel like it was worth mentioning the support for fans above the psu shroud here, that's a nice carry over from the mesh ii. I really want the dimensions because I want something with good airflow and isn't too large.
Something has gone wrong here. The big downside is the cheap feel of the case, but the truth is most buyers aren’t going to be touching their system much, if at all, once it’s built. Sure, you do because of your job, but if you think that’s a catch, then on this occasion I think you’ve lost sight of what most buyers care about most. Glass, airflow permeable mesh, ARGB fans included. For the price it feels like you’re either being super picky or have unrealistic expectations on value.
4000d airflow isn't *really* $79 though since it doesn't even give you enough fans. so you have to add the price of additional fans to the cost of that enclosure. This case feels like a more complete package.
Excellent Review. Just perfect in short. I m using this case. I was very happy with it until discovering the sides where Lian Li has cut corners. Build quality is not great and the pain quality is below standard, which is not expected from Lian Li. I have been using this case for 4 months now and already it has started to become rusty. Top side paint got swollen and started to fall off. Disappointed.
Wish the front frame had a bit less metal for the fans to push air through, it looked like the frame was designed for 120/140 fans more than the 200s, and there was a lot of metal behind the edges of the fans.
Have you guys heard of the montech air x? It's in the same price range, and i thunk it gives this a good fight for the money. And has an actually removable glass side panel.
Ive been buying the lancool 205s for computers ive been building and for 59 dollars its an amazing deal and wonderfully engineered for its price. I mjght try and find one of these and build a pc in this since this is pretty sweet.
Can you please review the thermaltake distrocase 350P. I'm about to do an enthusiast ground up build and love the look. But I'd love some performance specs before spending such a significant amount. Thank you!
Wow not bad at all. With a dc/pwm fan controller to boot. I wonder if those 200mm fans can mount anywhere else. A 360mm push pull capable budget chassis is insane imo. Id consider an id cooling 360 with some arctic p120 pwm fans some good budget options....and actually get good gpu cooling since the bottom is perforated...comparaple to the mesh II side mesh door. With some 120mm fans mounted facing up....the "budget" aspect enables room for aio and 5pck fan budgets
The specs for this case says 370mm length is max for the graphics card, and the manual shows it, but it's hard to see if that's up to the open space for fans and radiator, or all the way up to the front without any fans or radiator mounted inside the front of the case (as the 2x200mm fans are mounted outside the front). I have a 330mm long graphics card, and I use the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 which has normal 25mm thick fans, but a 38mm thick radiator, so I am curious if they will fit in the front behind the 2x200mm fans while leaving space behind that again for the 330mm long graphics card.
The Meshify C (and plenty of other more expensive cases) has no way of pulling the glass panel off without fingerprints... you just clean the surface when done. clowning.
So I'm confused. I only see the cable management as a downside for this case. Tempered glass, huge rgb fans, rgb fan hub, top and front clearance for AIOs, plenty of dust filters, great airflow.
