"Land and Freedom" - La Internacional (w/subs) 

There's something about the internationale when it is sung, not by choirs, but rather by common people. While I love big epic orchestras, the real power shows when workers sing the song.

Actually gave me chills. The internationale unites the human race!!!!

One of the most remarkable movie I've ever seen. This scene really shakes my guts.

I think I found the inspiration for the really profound lines at 0:35 in a 1936 interview with Buenaventura Durruti, one of the leading militia organizers during the revolution: "You will be sitting on top a pile of ruins if you are victorious," said Van Paasen (to Durruti) "We have always lived in slums and holes in the wall. We will know how to accommodate ourselves for a time. For, you must not forget, we can also build. It is we who built these palaces and cities, here in Spain and in America and everywhere. We, the workers, we can build others to take their place. And better ones. We are not in the least afraid of ruins. We are going to inherit the earth. There is not the slightest doubt about that. Fun fact: Some years ago, I had to vote in the EU elections in Denmark. I did not know any of the candidates ( I had been out of the country for years). However, the name of one candidate stood out. I knew her granddad had fought in Spain and that he had also been a founder/participant in one of the most efficient Danish resistance groups. So I voted for her. I did not regret it.

This movie had me crying.
