I know of a place in Arkansas that i found that is a cave in the side of a cliff with a flat stone smokehouse built on the side of the cliff also. There are old paintings in the cave Also some old stone pottery theres an old stacked stone fire pit . If your out infront of the cave and climb the cliff up above when you get on top you can look down and see the river.there was so many interesting old things in the cave and on the land around it. I decided to keep it to myself. Years later. I purchased this place. Its a type a place a person can go and never be found. And could live off the land. As long as they take what the land has to offer. Meaning small game , deer and fishing plus ducks and geese in fall. Lots of wild edible plant life. Berrys, pawpaw wild plums persimmon plus down closer to the river a person could grow crops.

The Ozark region is definitely one of the most beautiful regions in Missouri.

Too bad you can't find a nature documentary on the Ozarks, everything on the Ozarks is anthropocentric.

Maybe if the government didn't come and take their property they would get told about things people find on that property.

I wish I could talk with you, my family came from Georgia to the Arkansas Post about 1808. They were there during the earthquake, then moved west, were in the Ozarks in what became Washington County. My grandfather was white, but gramma was Cherokee. They were there before Lovely County was formed. They were in Summers. Then things got bad with the treaty party, Major John Ridge of the treaty party was killed right there by their place. There is so much more to tell! Would love to talk to you. My family left for Texas right after the murder of Major Ridge. My Grandfather John Huitt became the first Sheriff of Dallas Co., Texas. Gramma Nancy died just before the trek to Texas, probable Malaria, enumerated by the “Gems of Pike County”, a research group. She had been taken to Little Rock. Her sis in law was Rosanna Brewer, also died that year. Hope to hear from you!

So these people go out and spend your time finding these arrowheads so you people could come take them away from them if you would give it back to the people that they might be more eager to tell you about them

exactly!!! These same people could probably get answers to many questions if they would just literally give them their property back. An ancient Native American communications and burial cave called Picture Cave, (1000-1500 years old) with 290+ paintings on the walls were auctioned to an anonymous bidder, although the Osage Nation tried to buy. Osage Nation has tried to contact them to at least see if they can work with them regarding conservation. It is their ancestors buried within the cave, their ancestors were the ones who drew art on the walls. I don’t get it, greed n $$$ over spirituality and morals!! In warrenton, mo
