Land clearing at Kaban wind farm near Ravenshoe. 

This is land clearing for the Kaban wind farm project in North Queensland.
The wind farm industry is possibly entering a new dangerous stage of development as proponents seek the land closest to high voltage power lines in order to save money. If high value forested ecotones are cut up as a result, that money saved by the proponents becomes a long term cost to the community - in so far as those now intact ecosystems the wind farms cut up, will be needed for environmental recovery after the coal era ends.
On this site Greater Glider habitat, Magnificent Broodfrog, Red Goshawk and Koala habitat is being cleared.
The Chalumbin wind farm is next to be cleared and is four times bigger than Kaban.
