This is not about the head to head comparison, but about Chinese cars that 20 years ago won't be able to make a trip to another town, now are competing in off road against legendary brands. It's good for consumers as we have more to choose, and the most important: those legendary brands would think twice before the set the price with 500% profit.

I satisfy GWM T500 and T300 respectively as offroad premium counterparts. Its truly formidable, from what I have so far observed. Hail China.

I would still go for the Toyota Land cruiser it did well compared to the customized GWM

Tank is modified and LC 200 is on regular tyres not a fair competition but LC is. King of off-roading

Tank 300 and 500 struggles in off-road with lot of spin but land cruiser didn't struggle at all event ought it was not heavily modified like the tank 500 and 300. Land cruiser goes without any struggles, that is Toyota, Chinese cars just looks fancy that's all.

Лучше устроили бы тест в пустыне с заездом на бархан на одинаковой резине. 100% танки бы со своими турбинами там легли и закопались. Оффроуд машина это транспорт который демонстрирует хорошую проходимость в любых условиях и тойота здесь на стоковой резине уделала подготовленный танк.

Toyota does not need to prove anything, however the Tanks 300 & 500 excelled and although I see them as a bit expensive they are both worth the money to invest. 4x4 Toyotas are extremely expensive.

I kind of agree with some of the comments on this thread: I don't think the point is to try to say the GWM is better or worse than the Toyota. The point is that if you had seen what constituted a domestically made truck in China 20 years ago you would NOT EVER have thought about this type of off-road trail... and never assumed that in 20 years the cars produced would be able to handle such challenging trails. The only domestically made cars I can remember from 20 years ago were the VW Santanas that were everywhere! (Those were actually kind of great! I always wanted to get one and totally trick it out with better suspension and sound proofing and a full leather interior ... I digress.) I see a lot of Tank, BAIC, Jetour, Haval (and of course) BYD on the road now and they look pretty good and manage the intense heat pretty well. Will they maintain their robust feel in 10-20 years? Let's see. It should be very interesting.

When comparing to LC 200 is this reliable the Japan goods already passed the test if we count 70 years back that was the the accountability.

На Танк300 и 500 стоят внедорожные колеса или МТ или АТ и размера большего, на ТLC обычная резина.... У TANK двигатели очень малого объема всего 2 и 3 литра, надутые турбиной и ресурс их маловат будет...
