Land of Talk - It's Okay from Some Are Lakes Order: bit.ly/2kK67Nf Directed by Davide Di Saro & Mihai Wilson Produced by WeWereMonkeys #landoftalk #saddlecreek
Yes, it's about a break up, but it's also about how hopelessly and absolutely she loves him. She knows there's nothing she can do but say 'it's okay' and let him go, even if she has a sliver of hope still lingering that they'll be what they once were. It's a breathless and painful feeling and she really isn't sure where to go now, wanting 'to be a car, lighting up the night' to show her the way. It's the truest part of human emotion and romance, representative of love and not just breaking up.(:
“Your voice becomes my home” is not just a statement from someone who’s breaking up with someone It’s about loss. Loss out of your control. Loss that takes a part of you with it
It's okay, I don't even cry All I think about is a memory And the dream when you kissed my arm As I look away, don't hear what I say That maybe when I die, I get to be a car Driving in the night, lighting up the dark Something in your voice, sparks a little hope I'll wait up for that noise, your voice becomes my home One way road, don't care what I find A little thunder's good, I thought maybe you would But it's okay, we all feel left out Sometimes growing up, it can get you down. I give you som
Vincent Gonzales I give you something that no ones gona give you my sleeping skin and my heart deep down in you I'll never tell you But you're my little scar goodbyes are hard and they're hard and they're hard maybe when I die I get to be a car Driving in the night Lighting out the dark Something in your voice Sparks a little hope I'll wait up for that noise Your voice becomes my home.
played this song at a fire with a group of friends. everyone stopped talking and listened. we proceeded to talk about when/how this song meant most to us...I think we can all agree we all became better friends after that. Thank you Land of Talk.
Oh this song! Pure beauty!!! My ex introduced me to this song, we used to get so buzzed, drinking and smoking, put this song on while I was laying in his arms and I would always cry. I have had many soul cleansing cries while listening to this song, the lyrics tug at my heart strings, it's amazing how something can be so beautiful.
This song and video are burned into my memory. My stepsister and I were up late one night in high school at a time when we were still watching MTV like people used to. This was on one of their late night/indie programs and it is the single most beautiful song I found on that channel. Listening puts me right back in that feeling of heartbreak and confusion I had throughout high school... But with music like this? To give voice to that heartbreak? It was a certain kind of beautiful.
Same. I go months at a time without listening to it but I always come back... and it always takes me back to where I was when I first heard it so many years ago.
Haunting... never gets old. It's one of the most beautiful songs, ever....with all the crap out there, her lyrics are a beacon in the night ... this band, their music...her voice...perfection.

Limitless. I explore relentlessly and find tons here and Tidal and musical friends.Tidal and Spotify are somewhat helpful in steering you to your taste.
going through a really rough time at the moment and stumbled upon this song, it's been such a comfort and just an overall beautiful song to boot. i hope the next time i come back to this comment, i can look back at the hard times as just something of the past.
this is a beautiful song and video. showed it to the homies during a rough acid trip several years back and they all calmed down. soothing gem of a jam
I only discovered this song by accident as I was listening to other Indie vibed music and this came on! This is probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in every way from her voice, to the lyrics to the music! It makes you feel so many emotions all at once, while also making you feel completly calm. A song doesn't have to be globally recognized to be beautiful, the most under rated songs are probably the best songs ever written. I will definitely be listening to more by them
first time I heard the song I just came out of a really hard time in my life I just kicked a 10-year drug habit and learning how to start picking up the fractured pieces of my broken heart the song when I came across it seem to soothe my soul its imagery first brought me into it and its lyrical structure kept me there this is a great song I love it to death.
I’ll always be back here when I feel drained my comfort song its like telling me that its okay to give its okay to cry 😭😭😭and many moree I can’t really explain what i’ve feeling when listening to this song
If you ever find anything I hope you think of me & let me know. Lol i need more of her voice in my life. Does she have social media where we can see what she's up to?
I know what you mean! There is a Facebook page where she announced some local Canadian shows this past summer. I contacted her record co. too, but they just said that they too would be excited to hear more from her, but that they had no news to report to me.
Osea que tu parte faborita de toda la pinche canción es el unico momento que es solo instrumental........ Que culero....................eres demasiado basico guey ponle atención a la letra almenos
What a beautiful song I have found 11 years later. I needed this now too. If anyone else loves this song and wants to suggest a song I'd love to hear your taste. I suggest: Comfort Edge by Helena Deland
this song brings out from me so much pain.. i cry every time.. but i find beauty in that.. in every word she breaths.. because all of the pain that was evoked in the end means only one thing.. that it all mattered.. i believe it was the only time i was ever in love..
i remember this song when it was free for a day on itunes years ago, so glad i downloaded it, its sounds relaxing, can't believe its 8 years old....... :(
I'm late to discover Phoebe Bridgers, but I'm sending her fans here because Lizzie & "Land of Talk" will always hold a special place in my heart. Come back to the States Lizzie!
Alvinsch...me enamoré...es bellísima...y un súper vídeo...y yo que siempre me alejo de todo lo que me de un sentimiento, y me enamoré de esta canción...
I also cry when I hear this song. Or when I watch the video... the video more for the fact that it's like watching a little piece of my mind come to fruition. The imagery is straight from my heart.
