16:47 the short strap goes UNDER the oddly shaped side panel. The front of the strap then emerges at the front of the panel to attach to the buckle. There is also a hook at the bottom of this flap for the rear tailgate flap to hook around. The ropes should be tied with a slippery hitch knot to make them secure but easily untied. Btw, it's called a tilt.

Thank you for your comment. Yes you are totally right there is a slot under the flap for the strap to pass through 👌 I have to practice my knot tying though. Something I would like to learn more about. Thanks so much for the tips. Jamie

Would be good to install O-ring between bed side and frame tube, under that washer with plenty of grease so water wouldn´t go in. If tubes are zinked, diameter will increase anyway after aging with moist

That's a really good idea. It really was stuck from years of dirt. Hopefully not so much will get down there now also that the canvas shields it from the elements. Jamie
