i was thinking the same thing i actually ahve aset with every type in it ,i must admit i use them all on my builds i just make sure my security is upto scratch and i never ever leave my defender in a carpark i never let it out of my site its the only way ,battery backup sirens are a must inside and outside
Hate to say it, but the Torx bolts are not the way to go, thieves have the tools to remove these, check out Gore hinges, and Optimal, can’t be unscrewed from outside, bloody expensive but worth it in my opinion.
it dont work my mate fitted all this .and defender was still stolen and stripped out they used a flat bed recovery truck to drag it away . and take it to a place and gut it . still to this day its never been found .. :(
Jesus there’s a lot of thought gone into that lot. Hopefully you’ve got four separate trackers fitted to it as well. Just shows you how much they’re targeted by thieves.
Put up a security camera with hard drive connected to tv in bedroom. Also use a driveway alarm, very cheap off the net. If anything moves near my 110 at night alarm alerts me and I can see truck straight away on telly that is left on. Had to do this as some people were caught nosing around truck, by a neighbour one day. Upgrade steering wheel lock to full cover one, or look into remove able steering wheel with a locking boss. Ps, very nice 90.
Layers! And you have layers on layers to get fitted... ✅ A great array of devices and add ons, some I had and some I did not, but the paranoia remained... 🧐🤪 Look forward to seeing how you get on with installing/fitting that lot... 👀🤷🏼♂️ Stay safe, cheers, Rog... 👍🏻 😉 🐍
Nice truck and very similar to mine, I had a decent alarm and immobiliser as well as a steering lock, the thieves lifted the car with a stolen truck crane on to the back of a low loader in broad daylight and off it went never to be seen again. The cheeky sods even told an inquisitive neighbour it had immobilised itself being an unreliable pile of cack hence the method of removal..
Great video once again Shaun....and not forgetting Lizzie on the camera. Oh dear I so want one of these landrovers....looking forward to future mod vids👍
The wife just gave me a lockdown butchering with Braun clippers! Any chance of a vid on your smart no3 to no 2 blended look? 😎 I’m seriously looking at a New Defender 110 which will have more security but no doubt some vulnerability so will check this supplier out 😉
Their called tamper proof Torx heads but sadly even Halfords sell them . You can knock the pip out of the centre of them so not the best but I like the phone app gadget
Get this a black roof rack and black bumper with a winch and it’s literally specced out just how i want one it’s literally perfect and I loveeee the colour Ps. If I want one will I seriously have to go this far just for it not to get stolen?
Hi there, what you saw here was a selection of products from the website however most of the items are linked together in a bundle package shown here... www.landroverdefendersecurity.com/collections/land-rover-defender-theft-deterrent-products/products/copy-of-essentials-bundle-for-90-110-and-130-td5-and-tdci-1999-2016
I am Canadian and this is soo sad. I am so depressed thinking that humanity has sunk so low that you have to take such steps to protect your property .
spark4550 many moons ago, I drove a VW van, was 6 volt then, I still have the siren , came off a FIRE BRIGADE , But then there was no parking but on streets, I rigged it, but parked 3 blocks from wher I lived, but there was a small sign, with an address & phone # , so @ 3am one morning my door bell rang, it was the POLICE, someone tried getting in, set the alarm off, I had to go reset it & got a TICKET FOR DISTURBING THE PEACE ! Had to go to the courthouse , after lunchtime I was called, fine $15 , I wasted more in pay to pay the lousy fine, but the judge , wanted to kno why I was disturbing the peace, , he could not help laughing, that sow the low fine ,,trying to protect my own property. Thanks your Honour dismissed ,,, Cheers from NJ. USA 🇨🇦🇺🇸
My pal did that ... no neighbours for 5 miles ... & his 90 still got nicked ... and it was a 20 year old rust bucket .... he must have been followed home by someone for them to know he had it. Not sure locking it would have made much difference ... but anything to slow them down is good I guess. I think a chunky Pedal lock is one of the best things.
What is going on here? Do you leave your Rover out on the street at nite?? If thieving that rampant in the UK? Why buy the damn thing then? In the US the AAA publish a list of the most stolen cars/trucks/cars so people can avoid all this. Wow. I’d take a hint if it. Was that bad. If all this is necessary doesn’t Land Rover have a role here? Before I spend a couple of thousand $$ on security improvements😲(improvements that don’t enhance MY enjoyment of my Very expensive vehicle, I would be chasing down LR to find out what they are doing to address the problem.
Na dude, LR already has enough security from factory, like the engine locking system and stuff, the landy remote to turn on/off the alarm needs to be in the landy to actually start the engine. Sure you can get a micro chip if someone steals and repaints the landy and all. But this is going way overboard tbh 😂😂. We have a gearbox lock and a motion detector which is enough to go on trips in extremely rural areas where there's hardly cell reception.
If they were going to steal a car a defender would be way at the bottom of the list too. 1) it's slow, max speed is like 140km/h. 2) slow acceleration. 3( they won't hear the cops since the engine is so loud 😂😂. 4) it'll be easy to track down since it's lovely shape and hard to miss. Etc.
We don't care, it's a defender, we love defenders, no thieving scum is going to put us off, this a 1978 bit of kit, not it's fault it's so commonly nicked
