Most people don't cross rivers on a daily basis. If you want to do that type of thing every now any then you'd be better off buying a cheaper car that can do it or simply hire a truck for a week when you need too. You'll save thousands of dollars. Land Rover are now glorified mall crawlers. They aren't a vehicle you'd want to select for anything remotely serious at high frequency.
Speaking as a Land Rover owner are we? I suspect not! Those of us who are know that no other vehicle combines highly capable on-road manners with exceptional off-road capability. Most of us DO take our Disco's off road, thats why we buy them. If we wanted a mall crawler we'd buy an X5/Q7/XC90/MercGLE.
