I have to disagree on the touch & physical buttons, in my opinion they’re the best combination I’ve had on any car. The physical ones are the buttons you are most likely to use the majority of the time which is what you need whilst driving, hats off toLand Rover for getting that spot on.

i have a P330e Discovery Sport, which I am very happy with. One think to mention is if you hit yje EV button, you can put it into Save mode, where by it charges the battery on the go using braking etc utilising kinentic energy, thus you can extend the battery usage during long journeys. I get about 33 miles out of the battery, but this varies as you said, not only with how you drive, but how warm the weather is ( as any battery) I love the high up position and enjoy driving it. It feels safe, especially when there is a lot of water on the roads!

SO what kind of overall mpg are you getting?

Hello. So this is very viable, dpends on terrain, etc, but on a long run, say more than 100 miles averaging about 55 to 60mph, I'd generally get about 35mpg. but in an urban environment, this could be around 20mpg or as high as250mpg, ( LR call it efficiency) it depends how much EV it uses. I have learnt to balance when to save and when to use hybrid. regardless of perceived mpg, i just love driving this very capable car/SUV @@999MikeS

Good review. Am seriously considering this car. But as you say, the electric range is a bit disappointing. I only achieved 20 miles ish during a weekend test drive. I am contemplating whether I should pay a bit more for a GLE hybrid instead... decisions decisions!

In a 300e you'll get up to 34/35 when charging during summer and 24/25 worst case in winter. That drop is basically the same for all hybrids as they do not have heat pumps like pure EV's.

I dont get why you would want the hassle of having to charge a vehicle to get 30-35mpg my diesel Q5 achieves this??

@@TotallyEV I don’t mind if what you said was honest , I test drove several cars and found this much better handling and that I can push it hard in county roads no problems with cornering , maybe you just don’t like because it’s not fully electric

32kW ??? Surely you mean 32Amp which would correlate to the 7kW onboard charger. Further meaning that the 13kW battery would take under 2 hours to fully charger. A 16Amp (3.3kW) EVSE would take about 4 hours to fully charge. The supplied 3 pin 10Amp (3-pin granny charger) (2.3kW) would take 5-6 hours to charge.

It's surprising, but 32kW is correct. It accepts a DC input via its CCS port; a true rarity in a PHEV. 7kW is achieved via its Type2 port and indeed correlates with the OBC.

Good video but a bit too negative in my view. I understand Land Rover is not a reference for quality and very expensive in general however when this model was launched it was well ahead of competition. Larger battery size, capable electric motor (up to 135 Km/h) and fast CC charge capability. When poor efficiency is mentioned I wonder which roomy SUV is capable of doing better. To my knowledge only the RAV4 PHEV with larger battery size....However it was launched >1 year later and you need to like the drive and the brand. I also wonder in which conditions you got to that very high fuel consumption.. about 10 Km/l does not make sense to me unless you drove on a motorway with a completely depleted battery.

Glad you liked the review, albeit not liking the outcome of it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, only thing we'll say is - we're reviewing vehicles in the present, rather than looking back in time. It's like reviewing a Tesla back in 2010 vs now. There are plenty of options around, and thus one should consider them. That's worse case in winter, same degradation with any hybrid. I have a 300e but only for short journeys, charge overnight cheap rate costs £1.64@ 34 mile range, £0 when charging from solar.

With 2nd row seats 'up', yes. Plus on later models the rear seats slide forward giving you upto another 15cm depth. Been looking at many alternative drives but the Sport is leading especially on cost. New version coming next year with likely higher electric range.

Totally disagree, sorry, we've tested the complete JLR range and Disco Sport came out top even above RR Sport (wind noise/price), Velar excellent drivers car. Current car is an F-Pace SVR
