Hi Jamie, I fitted some of these bags today and used your video as a guide. Thanks for taking the time to consider others recording all the work you have done on your 200 it has been so handy to have. Thanks again and safe travels.

I am impressed with the work you have done and the Airbag Man heavy duty kit. But I am NOT mechanically inclined at all. I need someone who is qualified to do the install but I live in the US! Much as I would love a trip down under, bringing my 2016 LC along is not possible. I also already have a modest (2") ARB/OME lift. So I am looking for airbags that will fit with that slightly taller suspension. I won't be using the air bags to add lift but rather to add support when towing a trailer and possibly to do a bit of leveling when camping. Any suggestions?

Hi Dan. Probably a bit long to reply here. Can you send me an email (address on Australian Images website) and I'll reply.

Update found a new product done by a company in QLD it's a wireless air compressor kit no more pulling the dam 4wd apart to run airlines or wiring or gauges or switches or a bloody pillar pod . The pump I have sorts nicely out of site àĺl I see is the remote control on my dash push the button and up they go press again down they go . While driving my system will automatically level it's self while driving along

Hi There I own a LC200 and looking at installing the air bag man. Would you be able to advise where you purchased the new A pillar to cater for the gauge? Can you also please give me your feedback on your experience with the airbag man.

Hi mate, Airbagman were great. Never had any problems. You can find the A pillar trims with gauge cutouts here: www.ebay.com.au/str/pillarpods/TOYOTA-200-Series/_i.html?_storecat=8572055015&mkcid=1&mkrid=705-53470-19255-0&siteid=15&customid=link&campid=5337824865&toolid=20001&mkevt=1

Did you consider LINX as the controller?
@austimages
@austimages 5 лет назад
Not really, because I had already installed so many of the accessories that would use it, so there would be a big reintegration job to get the most out of it. If I were starting a build today, then I'd give it serious consideration though.

You were pulling excessively on the rear flexible brake hoses when lowering the axle. See 04:35

It may look that way, but the lower bracket is unbolted from the axle housing, so it doesn't put too much tension on the lines.

Too many things that can go wrong and fail over time...

Certainly, anything you add has the possibility of failure. But I've had these in for a few years now (including some challenging trips), and not had any problems.

It's a stop gap. Get decent suspension and you won't need this shit.
@austimages

The issue isn't the quality or rating of the suspension, it's the use of the vehicle. Sure, if you're loaded all (or most of) the time then it's better to install heavier springs. But if you regularly have widely differing loads (such as a daily driver which spends most of its time empty, but is then loaded up heavily and a trailer/van added for trips), then airbags are an ideal solution. Because if you install heavy springs suitable for the vehicle fully loaded, then when you're empty around town it rides like a pig and sits 50mm too high. Airbags solve that problem.

Australian Images Airbags change the geometry of a suspension system using a central pivot when loaded. In many instances, the load is transferred to the rear of the vehicle especially in dual cab utes. In this case a Superspring is a much better alternative. I have used bags before on a multitude of outback trips and found they were more trouble than they’re worth. Leaks , punctures and such. There is no substitute for decent coil springs which can handle a load and still give a ride that won’t put your back out. I know because I have spent many hours in various vehicles on all sorts of road conditions. Sorry, airbags are detrimental and pain in the wallet. When I’m on a trip I have better things to do than worry about fixing airbags or indeed a broken chassis. You will never convince me!!!
@austimages
@austimages 5 лет назад
To each their own. It's certainly true that they can alter the load point on leaf-sprung vehicles. But when located inside the factory coil springs, the load point is essentially unchanged. It doesn't matter how high the quality of the spring is, if you have a coil that's designed to carry an extra 500kg and maintain normal ride height, then removing that 500kg will increase the ride height substantially and make for a much firmer ride. There's no way around that fact. If that's a compromise you're willing to make to avoid installing airbags, then go for it. Personally, having also had several vehicles with and without, I prefer the airbag option.

BTW, not trying to convince you at all. For some people, airbags are an ideal solution to a problem. For others, they are not. It all depends on the vehicle and its usage.
