These last few episodes have been epic!!! Ive been watching this channel for like 10 years it must be now and i still dont think tj gets the credit he desrves for his camera work always top quality!! And pwoahhhhhhh 150k subs just around the corner boys 🔥
@@macpreston whats the plans to sort out the diff issues? Pushing good power in the 79! Everyone says patrol diffs are they that much stronger? Also good when you spoke on the gear ratio being better for fuel and basically making it run back to factory but the pinion becomes smaller and weaker which i didnt know so cheers for teaching me something 👍
Gotta say the alien skits that are put into the video is hilarious, editing on point, definitely my favourite 4wd youtube channel out there just a good bunch of blokes having a good time and a laugh 💯
To be fair Maca, there is plenty of patrols with a duramax or cummins that don't smash diffs. You could try 105 diffs with the solid pinion spacer, or the h260 rear out of the tb48 patrol with the handbrake on the diff. My bros gq has a built td that puts out 1000nm and it hasn't blown a diff and he does bitty skids all the time, not on 37s though.
Patrol diffs are good for 600hp max usually blow around the 450hp mark, Toyota is roughly the same, there is a guy running 4.3 Hilux diffs in a 4runner pushing 1000hp and 9sec 1/4miles. Drive line will always need to be strengthened when applying twice power at least.
Yeh few guys i chat to with cummins swappe patrols have blown a couple of patrol diffs each! The rears are actually very similar size to a toyota 79 diff, I think my issue is not using factory gears so fingers crossed its all good now!!! But the front toyota diffs suck haha they have strong axles and cvs tho! Hopefully no more issues!!
Great ep. and series lads. You 3 had me institches at times, plus some good scenery content in this episode, but plenty of great viewing across the whole series. Hope the diffs get sorted @macca. TJ those 300 look way more capable than the 200s. Pity they arent a v8 though.. Uncle Pooly always a standout & entertainer. Cant wait to see whats next. Cheers!
Maca it would seem a diff supply/repairer sponsorship is a substantial untapped market for you. I can see 2 spares rear centres being packed for the next trip. Loving the episodes fellas. Well done TJ.
Another great vid guys. Doing that last section in in the rain certainl y makes it interesting. 😮 We went in the the office to hand back the keys and they said it will be shut for two days to dry out 😅
19:38, the 300 looks mint. By no means am I a LC person (square body man), but its the first one i don't mind it. Mint upload and nice team work Jim Maybe time to look at a pajero rear diff
Great episode boys, nothing like cruising through the country side with aliens, fence checking, blow a diff and then a bit of cooking. Fun to watch. 👏👏
Need a T shirt where on the front it says "Who's TJ and MAC?" and then a pic of Pooley on the back tipping his Sunglasses down with a "Ya Don't Wanna Know..."
Macca it isn’t all the 1000nm fault (doesn’t help), it’s the 5.25 first gear in the 8 speed which is waaay lower than anything else. Also in a stock 8spd car the converter will lock even in first gear, if the boys command no lockup in first and second it might help soften the impact on the poor diffs, the trans temps will get way hotter in high range but that is better than 3 diffs in one trip.
Hey jake yeh your very rite, the power is actually hitting that diff pretty hard! The nitro gear 4:88 ratios is also an issue such a small contact surface on pinion to ring gear!
@@macpreston Maybe go down to 4.3s if they are substantially stronger, it will make 8th fairly unusable though. 4.3s in 7th gear at gps 100km/h will be 2000rpm +-100, even at 110km/h 8th will drag it down to 1700rpm (which is really hard on big end bearings with 1000nm haha)
Another one for the memory banks team, I could have sworn when Uncles steering went it was programed in for a date with "the Colonel's special dinner box"! Thanks as always gang, love your work 🙏✌️👍
You guys are cool but you reckon SkyTrek is epic you wait go to Bendleby Ranges 4WD Park just south of the Flinders it's f##king epic tracks like Pat's Peak. Billy Goat. Hungry High Way they are awesome 👍 l love Pooly cheers legends 😄
Absolute perla, would be interesting to see how a pooey diff would go. Seen Mr kinsela put a patrol diff centre in a 105 or 80 series diff housing. Might fit in 70 series as well??
Macca you have seen the crazy patrols in Saudi pushing 1000hp right............ yeah I think you'll be ok 😂😂😂😂 may need an import job out of dune camel crusier
Gday TJ, Macca & Pooly, Im starting to think you boys need to build your own brand diffs that are don’t implode, probably start with the centres out of some 46-160 diffs, Pooly should have a couple in the Emu shed, bloody awesome episode mate, cheers
1000Nm peak, but not at 1500 rpm which is about all you were doing anyhow. You're heavy, on a hill, 37's, a high ratio final drive and lots of grip. What did you think would give????
great ep!! maybe macca should look into 14 bolt rear and dana 60 front, wouldn't have another issue anytime then. patrol rear diffs aren't any stronger
