Landing At The Most Scenic Airport I've Ever Been To...Escalante, Utah

Welcome to Day 2 of my fall trip to Utah. On this day my friend Tommy and I woke up early and departed Albuquerque International Airport (ABQ) for the tiny airstrip in Escalante, Utah (1L7). Along the way we flew over Monument Valley, Lake Powell, and Neon Canyon...just to name a few of the famous landmarks. After arriving and securing the plane, we drove the incredibly rough "road" to the Egypt Bench Trailhead, and then descended down to the Escalante River to stay the night. An absolutely incredible day of flying, photography, and backpacking. Thanks for watching!

It was nice meeting you guys at Albuquerque. I was parked right next to you at Cutters aviation (In the Arrow). Great Videos. If you are ever in the Tampa Bay area and want to do formation flying let me know .

I flew in several years ago and it looks re-paved. It was cracked and had weeds growing on it.

Wow, that’s definitely quite a bit different than what we landed on. Very nicely paved and fully stocked pilots lounge area. Just an all-around great airport to land at!
