Landing on the earth's least visited country! The landing took place on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2016, on Nauru Airlines. See more about my Nauru trip, including tons of pictures and notes here: www.ramblinrandy.com/oceania/n...
@@ramblin-randy - No. Living in Brisbane. Haven't been to Nauru though! Proud of her! Has been a pilot for over a decade at least. Sad to hear about ET302 crashing yesterday with 157 on board.
Haha the airport is clearly visible on satellite images of the country! They even needed to extend the airport into the ocean because the island was too small to fit it! Little Nauru, respect from USA
Nauru looks absolutely stunning in this video. The centre of the island was supposedly destroyed by phosphate mining, but it looks lush and green in this video. I think the place has fantastic tourism potential !
What a way to be welcomed into a country!! To fly into a country and to be greeted by the vast Pacific ocean all around you. Wow!! Beautiful video, Randy!!
This aircraft (VH-XNU) used to be Air New Zealand's B737-300 (ZK-NGJ). I flew this aircraft on NZ674 from Dunedin to Auckland in 2013 so I'm glad that the plane wasn't scrapped.
@@pranishchhetri777 that is not senseless. The only other way to get there is boat and if your traveling long distance, I don't want to have to do a layover.
Elektrik HyEEEna Thank you for watching! I have another video that is about 20 minutes long, that shows everything on the island… I hope you will check it out!
I noticed a freighter off the island. Can they come right in and unload, or does all freight and supplies have to be delivered by lighters, as is the case with Norfolk Island?
Any possibilities that you can furnish me with some solid contacts for is to do solid waste management and vertical farming there, just to help the beautiful nation with the solid waste and high-price imported commodities there. Thanks
8:38 Is the plane taxiing over a street? 😁 So basically, cars and scooters can enter the ramp & runway? Or this street remains closed for the whole time the plane is on the tarmac. Interesting airport design on this tiny island. Wish I could visit Nauru some day, but from Germany, it's damn hard and expensive to get there
Thanks! I'm reading it now. I traveled around the world back in 2000. I've been to more than 50 countries, but not yet to Nauru, St Helena, or Pitcairn. These are a few that are on my bucket list. I thoroughly enjoyed your blog. Watching some of your videos now! Thanks for taking the time to share this.
No, thank you David! I have two Nauru pieces: one that is my story of visiting, and then another travel essentials page that outlines all the facts/info. I hope you can make it to Nauru!!!
