Years ago when I spent a couple of months in hospital there was an extremely rude and disgusting man who was there for ages, he was ready to go home but he lived in a house just like that old couples. Except he was perfectly fine and younger so he could easily clean, but he was so disrespectful, ungrateful and demanding. The council was forced to spend many thousands cleaning his place, he was such an awful person.

@@startheangel9760 it's not always like that unfortunately. In my friend's case for example, she has mental health issues and starting to clean is sometimes just to much for her. Then there are times when she gets a cleaning surge and gets a lot done but the time between those surges can sometimes be very long. Fortunately she has good people around her that try to help as much as they can.

For those saying, the elderly have nasty flats because they 'decay', I‘d like to point out student flats and houses as well as accommodation of those of 'functioning' alcoholics or other addicts. Faeces and smoke stains turning walls brown. I mean, mental health is a massive issue, I get it but maybe rather than making excuses for humans being a living hazard to other tenants, it‘d be easier to ensure social services exist and actually take action…wishful thinking (in a world where people still flush everything down the toilet😑). As for the restaurant: the indifference and lack of ownership/pride/common sense is just outraging…how did they get a license in the first place…

It's mindblowing really, don't they ever consider the cost of somone having a serious foodpoison of listeria, salmonella or similar and their insurancecompany wanting to recover the cost of care, loss of income from the poisoned person being out of work for pershaps weeks or even months if they get damaged organs due to poisoning? Now that is a scenario that could put a restaurantowner's livelyhood in danger.

Me & my wonderful hubby moved in2 a pub & live above the pub in the 4 bed flat. We took over the pub & flat above on the 22nd of November 2021. OH MY GOD I walked only 4 steps up 2 the flat & I was sick all over my self so went bk 2 my other flat had a wash then went bk 2 the pub. Once I had a mask & air freshener in hand I opened the flat door oh fuck sake all rooms full of crack pipes & bongs & cigarette ends everywhere even in the radiators. I have OCD about cleaning I did really enjoy filling 2 skips & used over 80 black bags full of well shit. The whole flat upstairs is now clean clean clean & smells amazing. Have already decorated the front room & our master bedroom but the other rooms are clean & just need decorating. The pub was bad but not as bad as the flat above JOB DONE

It's sad when you know it was an elderly couple. When seeing the dirt on all walls it shows they likely had mobility problems when needing to hold on to the walls and furniture to move around in their home. I sense it's similarly more common sights in Sweden as well, part could be that the municipal authorities are not as proactive in their service of elderly care as earlier. This as well as many reject the help if offered, often they feel unsecure with strangers coming a few hours with cleaning, cooking or shopping assistance of course. I think those kind of jobs need to be upgraded salary and schedulewise because one problem is that the elderly feel. more vulnerable when personel quits and there's new staff coming every second month. And of course, an office or a nurseryhome are designed to be ergonomically sound to clean while ordinary homes aren't, so something extra is probably needed to avoid people to quit after a short while.

What amazes me is the owners or a counsel person if applicable, do not make periodic checks on the properties. My parents were part owners of several apartment complexes and there were mandatory quarterly inspections and more often if an issue was found. They had to give 24 hour notice of intent to inspect. if there was reason to suspect illegal activities they did not have to give notice if they had law enforcement present. It all was in the written contract.

This is the fall out of care in the community You get disabled people left to cope on there own. It’s cheaper for the council to clean up grime,possibly send the bill to the home owner. Then place oaps in nursing home,or old age pensioners care home. Care in the community is a mean way to deal with the unwanted people

The Kabob shop really was disgusting. My mum hated eating out, she had a phobia that the wood was cooked in a place like this. I worked in food service for the schools and we had routing inspections be our supervisors and the health department. It isn’t hard to maintain if you do it daily.

In comparison to US shows, it's incredible how kind everyone is. In a filthy, dejected home, the inspector still doesn't judge the person poorly. In a US show they'd be mocking them over and over

Soot is the absolute worst thing to remove. It's sticky and just smears wipe after wipe. It has to be fully removed because it soaks through even stain blocker, I'll trash out a hoarder anyday vs clean fire damage.

Thanks for the show! I love seeing people interested in getting these dirty jobs done! The boys that clean sewers are a good bunch! Thanks to them, sewers are running! The polluters are the disgraceful , selfish @%!# It would be a priveledged/hero profession. Lots of restaurants are dirty! Yet we still, stupidly, go. Just cooking at home, in a clean kitchenette, is difficult enough to keep sterile! Thats how I do not see how they keep restaurants clean. The staff do not all have standards like one should! It takes a dedicated, consciensious, clean team staff! Anyway........Another tale for another time!🪤🧹🪣🧼🧽😁
