The sad part: this was a hand-made, one of a kind trophy, that had 18K gold inlays, was made for this occasion for about 6 months and has a value if about 4.000 euro...

yes... but does the value of it now really go down? How many trophies are broken like this live during the ceremony? it has an added story to it now that other trophies dont... I say value goes up.
@@Vislow Once Hungary didn't give a porcelain trophy, driver who win the race was upset. But this wouldn't happen if Lando drop the champagne to the platform, not to the podium. Lando is a child, he is an excellent driver also

Even though they are friends i do think it would be nice and respectful if he apologized instead of acting like it's no big deal. Not only towards Max but also as showing respect towards the makers of the trophy who but in blood sweat and tears into making it.
@@broughy23 I can only base my opinion based on what i've seen. There's no ill intent i'm sure, and they are friends, but i do feel like he could've been a bit more apologetic. Max didn't really care but still.

But it’s true. If Perez can get from behind and get P3 that should be enough evidence it’s the car doing the magic. Max is a great driver but that car is a spacecraft running on anti-matter. You could throw me in there and I could get at least P7 without much training.

I feel the same way. Twice he was asked about it (once after this). And both times he showed not the slightest hint of regret. Not even a joking apology. Rather 'spoiled brat-like' (he is from a very wealthy family), tbh. He later apologized...but on Instagram. Probably because McLaren told him to. Not a huge deal. But weird behavior, nonetheless. ☮

@@niksal1 his radio comment during the race saying that 'these guys' (p11-p20) are 'not fighting for anything' when he was trying to clear the backmarkers was pretty distasteful. Idk how people like him. It's typical Brit behavior just like you see in Russell.

@@shellnexus1 that is the same complaint that any front runner makes when he is fighting at the front and backmarkers don't get out of their was immediately, same way he snapped at his engineer for telling him how far Perez was behind. It's hyper competitiveness and the best drivers push all the way whilst on the track, once the race is over it's thanks or sorry depending on the statement. You should listen to Yuki's radio if you think Lando is disrespectful. People swear and say all sort of stuff in normal traffic trying to get home, it just doesn't get broadcasted. Anyone who takes comments like that seriously, has never been in high stakes presure situation in their life and doesn't know enough about F1 to know it's really not a big deal. As for the trophy, it was clearly unintentional, followed by banter between mates, if Max is not upset, then nobody should be.
Personally, Norris sounded like a real smart arse for someone who did just break someone else's trophy. Nor did that sound like genuinely friendly banter. Particularly the 'whoa chill out; just because you have the quickest car', comment. The RB may well be the quickest car, but dismissing a win by MV as 'just because he has the quickest car', is very uncool.
Some facts. These trophies are handmade during a 6 month period with great craft, and the estimated value of it 45,000 USD. These are one of a kind porcelain trophies.
Lewis would be all crybaby about it, telling the reporter that complaints had already been filed with the FIA, for unsportsmanship-like behaviour, and suggesting that Norris had to be stripped from his Hungary result and prize, and a heavy fine, and being placed 5 to 10 places back in the incoming races, and a point-reduction and next to a hefty fine, pay for atleast 100 boxes of tissues for all the crodocile tears, and also should be forced to make a big donation to the 'Help Lewwy get a new ridicoulously looking and overpriced overcoat for the next race'-fund.
it is disrepectful and shameful, somebody put a lot of work into creating it and it was just destroyed by someone being utterly careless. Of course the YT crowd nowadays does not give a shit about that, all that matters is self centered fun.

I mean I’m not angry at Lando on Max’ behalf, but he was clearly not that sorry, otherwise he would’ve been more careful after the first time, instead of doing the exact same thing another two times.

You dont see many unique trophies through the calendar, I think this one is the most beautiful one and to see it get destroyed and Lando not feeling bad about it a single bit makes me feel really sad as a Hungarian
I guess Norris lives life in the sort of vacuum where he races, makes a lot of money.. goes to sleep, races some more.. and totally does NOT understand the value of things... Happy to see him and max happy and celebrating their friendship.. but jeez, that didn't reflect very positively on his maturity or appreciation for culture now did it? He has a bit of a dumb gaze in his eyes.. not exactly the eye of the tiger. ah well.
