One half of HJ Visuals (James) decided to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats unsupported, with very little cycling experience for the Alzheimer's Society and Orchid Mens Cancer.
See how I got on by watching the video. Unfortunately the weather was atrocious so there's not as much footage as I would have liked, but what a great experience. If you're considering doing it, do it!

Love Truro cathedral. Nice rain bow. No time for Wells cathedral? Tough project, especially as the UK does not really made cater for bikes. Cool that you made it.

Wanted more stops along the way and also to get the drone up especially in Scotland. But the rain was too heavy!

If you use marathon plus tires, punctures won't be part and parcel of cycling trips. Have then on the endurance bike, makes you slightly slower but meh. My definition of unsupported differs, carrying everything you needed with you instead of staying in accomodation and buying food along the way.

Unsupported means not having a support car or outside support.. everything you need is on the bike.. you can eat along the way, and stay at accommodation.. give people credit

Awesome effort lads, Myself and a couple of friends are taking this challenge on in June 2024, we are doing it in reverse (John O’Groats to Lands End). We will be doing it on road bikes and similar to yourselves covering 100 mile per day. How did you plan your route??

Good luck Gareth! We looked at the “standard route” for the journey and then booked a hotel that was circa 100 miles throughout. We then preloaded each days route onto a Garmin which was on the bike and away we went
