What happens when you lose electricity in your home? Solar lights will shine bright while the other lights won't shine at all.

Solar lights have gotten significantly better in just the last couple of years. While yes a single electric light is going to yield off more light than one solar light. On the flip side of the coin with a little work you can get pretty close to regular lightening. You just need more solar lights overall in most cases a lot more. During a power outage they can provide much needed light.. On the tree light if you were to add 5 more spot lights. You would start to get close. The yard lights they have now are far brighter looking. I was able to light up my entire backyard by placing the solar lights only a couple of inches apart all around the yard. It required a ton of them but it was set it and forget it. They have been running for 2 years now with no problem. This would have been a major project going electrical.

We have some solar path lights from Costco in our front yard which look nice when they work. They problem for us is in the winter, our front yard is shaded all day so the solar lights don’t get much light. They are very I consistent throughout the year. We thought about solar for the back yard but that has even more shade due to a high block wall between us and the neighbor behind. So, we definitely need the better lighting system. Just starting my research now. :)

I love my solar powered lights… I just got mine from Walmart. Decently made for the price. Yes, they can become quite dim, if it’s cloudy or if I don’t move the lights into the sun during the day. But my backyard is so small that the dim glowy lights are quite beautiful. However, your professional lights are stunning! As you said though, the bigger lights are definitely worth the bang for their buck if you’re going solar

I would like to find some solar lights for the yard so I can not only light up my back yard better at little cost, but I can bring the light inside during a power outage. Last hurricane, I used a very expensive flashlight ($30) that lasted me through five days before the batteries gave up. It gave off a tremendous light, when aimed at the white ceiling of my home. But I would like to have some solar options if I run out of batteries. Thank you for your video demonstration.

I never had problems with one of the solar lights in my backyard. It’s been working for at least 3 years now. The only issue I noticed sometimes in a while, the light doesn’t go all the way bright, it has to be the dependent of the sun I guess. Other than that, it is still working perfectly fine.

Damn, all those dislikes. I guess people can't handle the truth. If you want, you can disable people from seeing total likes and dislikes. That should deter people from disliking. The only good thing about solar lights is that they have nicer designs and you can put them anywhere. Other than that, you forgot to mention that there is maintenance. You have to clean lens, replace battery once it starts weakening, and clean solar panel. With low voltage lighting, the only maintenance is replacing lightbulb and cleaning lens if your path light has a lens.

I'm surprised at how reserved this guy was with his opinions on these cheap lights. Solar lights always make a home look worse than having nothing. The light temperature is often too blue, they don't illuminate uniformly from light-to-light. They don't turn on or off at the same time. They look cheap. They can't be automated. And because they are so cheap, homeowners buy them in bulk and usually add too many. They are disposable junk that always looks amateurish. This video was put out by the author to EDUCATE people so they DON'T WASTE their money at Home Depot, etc. THIS I TOTALLY AGREE .... And, .. AK Lighting author was being very polite to those here in the comments section. Basically the bottom line is this .."to EACH their Own" ... Here is MY take on this topic: Using Solar lights along a landscape pathway is basically just a touch better than purchasing a bag of glow-in-the-dark PING PONG balls at the DOLLAR STORE and tossing them every couple of feet. THERE ... I said it. ONE THING IS VERY CERTAIN: PERSONALLY, I WILL NEVER, EVER PURCHASE SOLAR LIGHTS IN MY LIFETIME. I have already been burned by crappy solar product purchases. But to those that LIKE solar lights: "Keep on believing that your solar lights are wonderful ... B'hahahahaha"

No comparison for me, wired is reliable, looks so much better, & great for security which is half the reason I have landscape lighting. Solar are good for moving around, so I do use those too in areas too far from the transformer that aren't critical for security.

I'm glad they have worked well for you. Now, just because you had a good experience doesn't negate the majority of people who deal with faulty solar lighting that have issues after a few months. Again, glad they have worked well for you!

Way to trash solar lights in order to "shine a light" on your business. #WeNotice
@aklighting8292
@aklighting8292 3 года назад
haha, thanks for noticing! Honestly, solar lights aren't made well yet. I run into customers a few times a week here in Texas that have issues with solar lights. So this video wasn't meant to trash on solar just to shine light on my business, it was meant to show that there are better options out there such as landscape lighting. Thanks for your comment.

Installation-wise, yeah solar is easier. If you want something with very little maintenance, go for 12 volts. There will be no cleaning the solar panel and no replacing batteries. 12v LED bulbs should last very long time

#1 reason why you SHOULDN'T buy a solar light if there's a cloudy day your light is down for the rest of the week. Sh#t's annoying as hell.

Not to sound like an ass in anyway. I have my solar lights charge on a cloudy day, a few may go out in the early morning hours. If I have had several days that are cloudy some might go out deep into the night. But generally I'm not walking around the outside of my house at 3am either. I guess it depends on where you live.

So much negative comments on here LOL. He’s simply telling the truth between solar and 12 volt. You guys stop being so butt hurt about your solar lights that don’t even light up the same time with the others 😂 Lmao.
@mrsound6140
@mrsound6140 2 года назад
Lmao look at all these butthurt solar light fanboys. Solar lights have too much disadvantages: 1. They usually are cheaply built and break easily 2. They generally are not very bright 3. More maintenance than what you get with 12 volt lighting 4. More expensive to have considering that you have to pay for new batteries every year whereas you could pay 10 dollars for LED bulbs that will last 5. I can never exclude the fact that solar lights don’t charge in cloudy days. Even if they charged, they won’t run for long. And if you dont want 12 volt lights to be too bright, you can always get low wattage bulbs. And think about it, do you really want to spend money replacing batteries or lamps every year and having to clean dirty solar panels or do you want to spend your money and do the hard work at once? I would go with doing hard work and spending money at once.
