I was wondering if i could shoot landscape photos, only with a 50mm lens.
It was a great experience, in an artistic way.
Sometimes we have to limit ourselves to get a step further.

I thought i clicked on a metal music video at first instead of photography, start a band with the kids? Awesome photos! I love the lavender colours with the morning sun

Haha 😂 maybe in a few years. I thought the intro was cool but when I started talking it was anti-climatic 😂 love to try new things in my videos. The lavender colors are actually heather and this place in Belgium is really know for it. It’s a beautiful place and big to go shoot.

I thought it would be a hard challenge, but it was actually really fun 😁 it slowed me down a little to think more about my composition, but afterwards I still think I don’t pay enough attention on my composition.

Landscape vs portrait interesting, i think this example landscape works best (in my opinion) but the first shot works best as a portrait. Not sure I can explain why, maybe the fallen tree was not as strong of a subject, maybe because it had fallen

I thought the fallen tree was a nice extra subject in the picture. I couldn’t get any closer because I was much lower than the tree it self, so the composition couldn’t work with the tree alone in it. It’s my favorite photo of that day 😁

Very nice. I have a 35mm for the 7200 and it's results are quite good too. I also have an older Nikon 50mm F1.8 AF from 1986 (I beleive..) that is nice...but ends up being closer to 70mm due to the crop sensor.

Thank you Darryl. Yes the 35mm is the same just a wider angle. I saw some test shooting 50mm on a full frame and a crop sensor and I was surprised. The 50mm it’s actually a 70mm on a crop and also yes it is 😂 very strange. If you shoot a subject on a crop and a full frame the distance will be the same, but you just lose a part of the framing on the side on a crop sensor. So yes it’s a 70 but you keep the same distance so no it’s still 50mm 😁 I was surprised I saw that in a video.

@@JorisVanDeuneghem That's very interesting! In any case, the results are still outstanding for a 30+ year old lens. I can deal with the cropping magnification...just move forwards or backwards pending subject and what you want for composition. The lens adds the character I like. There's something about those older lenses ...

Yes I guess it’s because of the quality of the glass. It’s probably a little different from the glass that’s made today. A friend of my also bought an older cannon because he has a lens he really loves, but don’t fits on the new body’s.

@@JorisVanDeuneghem I have 2 lenses drom the mid 1980's that work. One is auto focus, the other is not but both work well. That's the beauty of Nikon...until the new Z series. Which...Is nice, but no need to venture there right now. The D7200 does the job for me.

Same for me, also don’t need to upgrade for the work I’m doing right now. If the gear works for what you need it’s good.
