Landscaper using Trimble gps rover to layout landscape designs

This is a video talking about how I’m using a Trimble r780 and t10 tablet rover with siteworks to layout our landscape and hardscape plans in the field.
I use Dynascape to draw my landscape plans. Then export .dwg, after that I use Trimble business center to create control points. The control points are used to orient and scale the drawing. Once the points are created I export to siteworks, calibrate the site using the control points and then can use the gps rover to preform the stakeout or layout as needed.
This setup is perfect for small residential landscape project and very large excavation project. It’s very quick and easy to setup once you know what you’re doing.

I would I like to see how you use this to measure and create a base plan with elevations and measurement points (survey stakes, house corners, driveway etc.)

Who do we talk to to get into something like this? Also could you use this like a Moasure to get site measurements and elevation changes to create a plan? This is awesome thank you for sharing!

Talk to your local Scitech dealer or whoever your local Trimble dealer is. Yes you can certainly use it for site analysis.

What type of correction are you using with the rover? Do you have a base station or a subscription service?

since he does not use machine control, I'm going to say he does not use a traditional base station. To get good corrections you need a C4G or Gulfnet subscription, which gives you corrections via the internet. The subscription for that is usually somewhere around $3k-5k annually. Much cheaper and more convenient than buying a base station, if you dont need machine control.
