Fields is a gifted athlete, but what Jalen Hurts showed is the importance of work ethic, mental toughness, and leaders ship to go along with physical talent. By that standard Fields is miles away from Jalen Hurts. Heck he was complaining about playing in the cold last year, and he spent his college career in Ohio! When he learns how to read defenses and throw the ball down field, then we can begin to entertain the possibility he could be allowed in the same building as Jalen Hurts.
Completely disregarding the arrival of AJB which was by far the biggest factor in the improvement of Hurts. Fields hasn't had anywhere near the same level of talent around him, including a top 3 offensive line. Eagles fans give Jalen Hurts entirely too much credit.
So sad that Jalen is still not getting the credit he deserves. Sorry he’s also on a good team, but Hurts took TREMENDOUS steps last two years. And then he’s always been a good game manager making good game decisions. I’m a Justin Fields fan and he has steps to improve before he reaches what Jalen accomplished last year.
Fields Is playing with one of the worst teams in NFL you can’t expected much from him. Didn’t the bear almost beat the eagles last year and fields had a better game then hurts?
@@aadamabdul1599 How do you expected a Qb playing with the worst team in the NFL to beat a Super Bowl Caliber team. It’s already impressive enough he out performed hurts and barely lost.
Hurts is the reason we almost won SB. He HARD carried the team. So excited to see if they can become perennial SB winners! Good time to be an eagles fan 😊
@@KINGDXVID_Hurts injured his shoulder early in that game, and this if the NFL my man, the large majority of games are close lmao… the difference between the #1 offense and #28 offense is like 10 points per game. Hurts was #1 in all passing categories from the pocket, and the #1 deep ball in the league, while Fields took the most sacks while having a top 10 pass blocking OL
Justin Fields is a quality quarter back, but he's not better than Jalen Hurts. Hurts is a real monster 👹 with his cerebral, and mental toughness not even close and he's very athletic and strong get real.......
as an ohio state fan i love fields he's a good qb but when the greatest qb in this day in age admits he got out performed by jalen hurts on the biggest stage you know he's the real deal. i do hope fields has a great year tho
@@weedasaurusrexwe went to the playoffs without ajb jalen hurts very first year as a starter and we were significantly under manned that year cause we was still paying wentz
Oh I totally agree its a good move getting bradberry reps in the slot or at nickel to match up against the tight ends coming up it makes sense also Cunningham probably should be the guy to line up next to nakobe Dean for now because you're righ Ellis is definitely playing well and getter better I think he will get better at tackling untill then Cunningham will lineup next to Dean and will play well im super excited for the season to start Go Birds 🦅
Everytime a player proves ppl wrong they say it’s because of the team around him! Duh! Football is a team sport this isn’t a sport where one player is depended on to win. No great player was great without his teammates. It’s ridiculous that they use the excuses like the team around him makes him look good
Jalen Hurts MVP and Superbowl champ this Year Fly Eagles Fly... Listen i honestly believe if everybody's stays relatively healthy this year there no reason we shouldn't run it back and be even better this year especially with this young talent we got on the roster and the guys we already had its a better team then last season I don't think hargrave and CJGJ will be missed that much same with TJ Edwards I believe the guys we have in there that replace them are going to be very good
@@thephillyspecialshowlove your content brother honestly it's my favorite Eagles outlet to watch and get my Eagles news you do awesome and super entertaining
I think that it’s a great option for all of our Corners should know how to play every where Slay and Bradberry and Maddox. Plus Maddox stay getting hurt
Not at all. Fields has done way less than Hurts but gotten more credit. They put him on the top 100 when all his damn plays were runs. Jalen was better earlier in his career but they still said we needed another QB, yet Fields is some hidden all pro?? I'm not saying he doesn't have talent, but they are saying things like this about Fields meanwhile they still haven't given Jalen credit for his throwing ability.
@@chriscolbert2188That's not true though. I pulled up the stats...WK 5 vs Minnesota; 15/21 208 yds 1 TD/0 INT 118 rating. WK 8 vs Dallas; 17/23 151 yds 2 TDs/0 INTs 120 rating. WK 9 vs Miami; 17/28 123 yds 3 TD/0 INT 106 rating. WK 10 vs Detroit; 12/20 167 yds 2 TD/0 INT 99 rating. WK 15 vs Philly; 14/21 152 yds 2 TD/0 INT 119 rating. WK 16 vs Buffalo; 15/23 119 yds 1 TD/0 INT 93 rating. Those are all good defenses too. His passer rating went up by 12 pts from the year prior. He was also doing that in only his 2nd year with Mooney and Claypool as his top targets under a 1st yr HC. He doesn't have the prettiest delivery, so there is a misconception he can't throw. He's at least middle-of-the-pack as a passer and his running is elite. He's an ascending star. I like Hurts a lot too, but he was gifted a great situation. He was also 1 yr further in his development. It's not an outlandish argument to compare the two when you take all the nuances into consideration.
Been watching the Kid since he was in Highschool. Trust me the Kid has Major Talent and a serious arm. The Bears might have had the worst oline I've ever seen last year so of course he had to run. Hurts is a Better leader and has Better Work Ethic Plus Hurts has that Mamba Mentality we all love. Hurts Worked himself to have one of the biggest Jumps I've ever seen from a QB but if you asked me 3 years ago before he made this leap I would tell you all day Fields has the Bigger Upside. They are almost Clones of each other for real. Electric Runners and Fields has an Arm for days but he doesn't have Jalens Work ethic or leadership. All Im saying is don't be surprised by the end of the Year They are both the top 2 QB's in the NFC. We have to remember Howie went out and Loaded up this team for him and the Bears will only half arse it. 60% of our fanbase wanted Hurts head 2 years ago with No weapons really and a mediocre team and that team was 10 times better than the Bears roster last year. Fair comparison would be to see what Fields does this year@@chriscolbert2188
Hurts was a 2nd rd pick. Later picks have chances to play for better teams. Hurts has better talent around him than fields does. Hurts has 2 great WRs a great TE, a superb line & an outstanding defense. He has roster advantages in every category over fields. And on top of that I feel like he’s a better leader. Fields my have better physical attributes but Hurts has the mental edge imo.
Idk when Maddox is healthy he was playing like an all pro in all aspects he was in there tackling rbs and but if he can stay healthy I'm happy with him in the slot the only concern is injuries
The Cowboys were racked with injuries last year, the Eagles were very fortunate last year but injuries always play a part and if one team escapes injuries they will have a great chance to advance. Every player is one play away from the IR.
I'm a Chicago bears fan I love your channel. Hurts is the better qb hands down but fields is the more physically talented and throws the balls much. It's like comparing who has the better jump shot doesn't mean he's a better basketball player
Once Fields stops running at first chance and the O-line gives him time to throw, he should make the same kind of jump that Hurts did in his 3rd year...Fields certainly has the physical gifts, hope to see him improve 👍
I disagree with Hurts/Fields argument. Hurts is the better player, but Fields is more talented. Bigger, stronger, faster, tougher to bring down. Hurts has better field vision, smoother mechanics, intangibles, etc. That's what gives him the edge. He's got a point too that Hurts is in a great spot. Everything a QB needs to be successful is there. Fields had nothing to work with. I'm not trying to slam Hurts here either. I'm a big fan and I think he solidified himself as a top QB, despite the circumstances. But I view Burrow and Allen (and Lawrence by this season) better in a vacuum. They're less scheme-dependent and can carry the load individually when asked to. I also think Fields is gonna end up top 10ish QB. He's been this unreal athlete since elite 11 in HS, who's been on a steady rise as a QB overall. He had some games back-half of last yr where he was dropping dimes (ex. NE/Pitt). He had Mooney and Claypool as his WR 1/2 and Hurts had Brown and Smith. Ntm, he was 1 yr behind him. Imo, it's a fair discussion when you take everything in consideration
"Special Siriani vocabulary"😆 No effin mas!!! Great show! Young secondary after Slay, Bradberry. Questions at Safety & LB. That D line better be dominant or season could be rough, especially the 2nd half. This discounting of the LB position continues to be a flawed Howie philosophy imo.
Jones always has nothing but negative things to say about the Eagles. I don’t know if he believes what he’s saying or if it’s just because McCoy is part of the show and it’s scripted for them to debate. But ridiculous comments make him just not credible. Just my thoughts. Btw great video.
It’s about the intangibles. Jalen has the entire package where Fields is a unproven talent. James Jones is entitled to his opinion but at the end of the day who really cares
Got it from here! onerockin.com/product/jason-kelce-hungry-dogs-run-faster-shirt/?GPS&CPC&ROAS&Ads&gclid=EAIaIQobChMInayvxfjtgAMVqDLUAR38NQqUEAQYAiABEgJqEfD_BwE
Raw Talent meaning a stronger arm and a better rusher, more physically gifted etc which he is, now he doesn’t have it altogether like Jalen hurts especially upstairs and he didn’t lie hurts has all the help field didn’t have and even now still doesn’t but fields has more around him so no excuses now. Everyone including eagles fans didnt even consider their QB hurts a top 20 QB but after last szn with arguably the best supporting cast in the NFL he’s the 2nd best QB in the league which is what I have a problem with. Ik hurts has made one of the most improvement’s a qb has ever made and raised his ceiling because he’s still young, shi even was the best player in the Super Bowl. But there’s more then his play on why people have him as the 2nd best QB without not even being mentioned as a top 20 the year before, it’s because of his leadership, mentality and intangibles which have all the “pro analyst” drooling over him and once one of them have an opinion they all have the same. Probably the only QB we’ve never had to say “show me you can do this atleast one more szn” and just earned an mvp type szn, making it to the superbowl, performing well and not winning it. Remember the eagles have the best roster in the NFL please do not be one of those that say Hurts is carrying them, he did in the Super Bowl but the eagles were so successful because they were able to win in sooo many different ways especially having an all time pass rush who deserve all the heat in the world because they disappeared in the Super Bowl. Hurts can erase the rest of the criticism this year and he already shown us he can play with the best in the game but it would atleast be a more then one dominant szn before we crown him. The eagles should have their Dline listed overrated by not getting once sack but they went out with their genius of a GM and grabbed Jalen carter and already have many of the best units or top 5 in the league. I respect the eagles a lot so don’t list me a hater even tho technically I am since I’m a giants fan lol but I’m just saying have more then one szn of dominance before we start crowning guys even this squad
And win the Super Bowl, y’all played a better overall game then the chiefs but experience and y’all making the only mistakes plus losing in key situations that matter lost y’all the ring. Since y’all have experience with this core being in the bowl there is no reason y’all shouldn’t win
5:04 "...which is a little concerning to say the least..." Yeah. He's a thirty year old punter who likely won't improve. What value does he have if the offense stalls and the EAGLES--GO BIRDS-, can't send the opposing team back on their heals? 8:38 "...Bradberry against some of those Tight Ends... " NOPE. Jalen Carter 6'3" 314 lbs. AND 22 YEARS OLD. (holy crap!) "It aint no Fuqin mas" 🤣🤣 GREAT JOB, JOSH!
I believe the whole league was more talented than Tom Brady. Talent is just one part of it and not the most important. Leadership, ambition, commitment, focus, accuracy, and processing are others. They are not many as talented as Fields. Can you give me a list of talented qbs that didn't make it, or are back ups now? Jalen is at minimum a 7 out of 10 in all categories. I would take him over 98% of the league. Talking heads need to talk.
1:22 see the problem with everything he saying is that Brady has had star power around him his whole fucking career but now there talking hurts been recieveing doubt since day fuvking 1 bro even manning was surronded by talent Kurt Warner was Wareen Moon was Steve Young Joe Montana fields is overhyped fr
Far as talent goes, yes fields has jalen by alot and thats bvious jalen hurts is behind alot of guys in regards to true physical arm and leg talent. T law josh allen lamar mahomes kyler has more talent than jalen.. hurts has intangibles smarts and toughness. His legs are pretty good not great and so is his arm,
If you recall, Jalen Hurts was projected a 5th round pick. You can look that up on the sports sites. He's certainly grown in the position, but it remains to be seen if he ends up too injured to play or the next Patrick Mahomes.
You mean like ESPN? Nobody was projecting him a day 1 pick before the draft. In fact, most had him as a day 3 pick (a.k.a. 5th round) He struggled his first half year in Philly, and the 2nd year was better primarily because the running game took over the load on offense. It took him three years to develop and was good last year. He's a good QB now, so you don't need to be defensive about how he was projected to go in the draft.
@kellygreennation7772 jalen had one good year .Philly fans said Carson Wentz is better same thing you said about McNabb. Stop talking garbage and wait and see
@@jonesco3902 he only been in the league for 3 years and his 1 year he didn’t start. How long dak been in the nfl??? Stop it. Dak isn’t that great. Jalen gets better every year.
None of these guys being signed has nothing to do with any long term intentions. These guys were all signed for nothing more than a 1 pre-season game stint, that is all... Repeat, not 1 has any chance of making the roster. They are simply 1 game signings. Which is still a good thing for them. They get at least a 1 game paycheck which we all could use a little more money these days...
Coming out of college, I thought Ryan Leaf was better than Peyton Manning. Nobody's perfect ( but QB1 is close). If Sippos is our punter, just cut him & go for it every 4th down. Dallas sucks. Go Birds!
Hurts first year as the full time starter after taking over for a 4-12 team, made it to the playoffs. Next full year, Super Bowl and lost some pointless stat game due to injuries. Most likely would have gotten 4000 passing yards and 40 touchdowns total. But Fields can’t throw for 300 yards but has better arm talent. Then he shouldn’t need top notch wide receivers and should be able to make die with chase claypool who isn’t a bum, but hey! Who knows!
