this is actually the worst, ive got this and the new infiniti and audi actually take pretty sharp curves on highways all on its own, the audi will even turn a quarter of the steering wheel on something so sharp, acura needs to catch up big time. infiniti doesnt even ask you to touch the wheel once!
Adam Hus: That was my first thought as well. I've driven a Tesla Model S and to test the LKAS is like going from running to crawling as a baby. I drove like 800 km round-trip. And never was the LKAS a feature that made my drive more comfortable, easy, relieving, etc. I had to focus more on driving with LKAS on than without it on. My car couldn't even manage to drive in a straight line between the lane markings. It sick sacked between them...
@@CalebsRightNut why not? You make no sense. Many cars already can drive without having your hands on the steering wheel. What's the point of having hands free capabilities if you're gonna get a beep every 30 seconds. Very stupid. That's why after 7 Acuras I bought a Q50 that drives hands free on straight highway. The role of the driver is to supervise the autonomous driving. A beep is very intrusive, annoying, and counter to what autonomous driving is for.
These two systems are INSANE! I went for long drive with curves and all and some traffic. I literally watched the steering wheel move with the curves of the road. Hands were ready should it not have worked but it took the curves on its own 😳. I find the distance braking can be aggressive at times but still safe.
Thank you, you're the BEST. I love my 2019, less than 1 k miles. Better than my lexus RX350, which has a growly muffler around 20-30 miles, inherent in its build. I also have the ELS sound system... INCREDIBLE!!!.
Just bought a certified 2018 TLX and I love it , very roomy compared to Lexus IS 350. Anyway these two lights are now turned on my dash and I made an appointment to take my car in to be looked at however I just watched this video so I will attempt to go out to the car and turn these lights off. LOL I am sitting here laughing at myself as I usually never read the manual😂
I've used this system a few times now. Even few year old technology now it's still is very good. I guess it was ahead of it's time when it was first introduced. When following and the car in front of you slows a bit, not completely stopped still doing about 60 say on a 70mph highway with about two car lengths in between , does your break lights illuminate or is that just a let off of the gas? The concern is the break lights going on unnecessarily ( manually I would not hit the break in that situation) and the person behind you thinking you're break checking them.
I wonder what video file format supported at Acura TLX 2015, to play on OMD screen, while gears on P position? I tried many but didn't work, except for one time with a clip from Flash memory of my friend, and that couldn't find it again. Thank you for reading my questions.
I have been having issues with this feature for a little over a year and half. The lights are all lit up and I cannot fix or get them to turn off. Any tip on what could be wrong and how to fix ?
Dean, it is meant to keep you within the lane markers with as little back and forth as possible; however, if the vehicle does not sense your hands on the steering wheel the system will disengage. The system is precise but not perfect.
What about the issue with the 9spd auto in these cars that has been said by many owners.. shifting itself to neutral while driving on the highway and them having to pull over and turn off the car and restart ?? Lol nobody adressing that
Yes you can use the ACC in stop and go traffic in the MDX and TLX models. The RDX is not equipped with the Low-Speed-Follow function that would allow for use in stop and go traffic. The vehicle will come to a complete stop when traffic slows down and then using the resume feature on the steering wheel it will accelerate and follow at your set distance until traffic comes to a stop again.
@@courtesyacuradenver you can also tap the accelerator pedal to resume? What if you're getting off an exit and no car on the ramp ahead of you and you come to a stop light with nobody at the light? Obviously you will need to use the brakes, but what about resuming using the system? Once you use the brakes it turns the LKAS off.
The only thing I can really find wrong with an 03 Acura TL 3.2 is the idiot that design the stereo system every time you take off the battery cable you have no stereo you have to reset codes why if a thief takes that stereo it's no good anyway just makes it harder on the person that owns it a definite design flaw other than that the car is perfect
