Lane Thomas is a Cleveland Guardian. Much to the delight of Guardians fans, the front office has made a trade. Acquiring a much needed right handed bat. Thomas's role is unclear at this point but he will provide a different look to the Guardians lineup. Alex Clemmey, Jose Tena and Rafael Ramirez Jr. are going to Washington.
Will this be it for the Guardians at the deadline or is there more to come?

Fairly to Lane, while this year's defensive stats maybe aren't great, he's less than a year removed from being a gold glove candidate in right field

ouch! His "best" year, 2023, he slashed .242/.292/.427/.719 in 450 AB vs. righties ... yawn, This year, OPS vs. righties is .663

As a Nats fan i'm not too exited by this move.Prospects are a total crapshoot.Give me a proven player any day over a hyped prospect.Not often do these kind of trades amount to much for the team getting the hyped players.

@@AlexwOBA My point was Nationals would of been better keeping Lane.He's one of the reasons the team has improved.He's not an aging player unless you think 28 is old.He hit 28 hrs last year.I never said i wanted proven players from Guards i meant keep proven player your giving up.His season this year isn't as good but he proved he has talent Nats can use to be a winner.Nats would of been better trading him last season when teams would of given up way more for him most likely.

Here me out. Move Andres Gimenez to short, put martinez at second. This frees up more outfielder reps for Noel and you can plug Thomas right into that Center spot.

You don't want to see Thomas in CF, hopefully, EVER!!!!! He's fast, not quick. He'd make Gabe Arias look like a Gold Glove winner! And as @Alexandertheswag mentioned, Martinez looks like a natural out there in CF.
