I do think there should be an alternative ending here if you lose the battle. You know, a good ending to celebrate the fall of the overlord?

Wholeheartedly agreed. The epilogue could consist of what all the survivors (Leon, Egbert, the twins, etc) were up to post-Elwin.

Oi un momento! This is the one time we don't hear Last Battle in the last map. I just searched the song and it sounds like it's Jessica's theme... Did they choose this theme for a reason?

I think they just went with the most somber or ominous song from the ost.
