Battle Start: 10:57
Success in this took a ridiculous number of attempts. I think I finally succeeded on the 18th or 19th try. Absolutely not worth the very slight increase in rewards compared to level 60 (with that said, I actually had fun with this fight). My Elwin is 6* tomorrow, so we'll see if this fight will be easier next week.
As a side note, Strategist teams with Vargas (MVP - battle cry to debuff phoenix ATK + power stab) + Leon (DPS) + Altemuller (FB + DPS) have a much easier time, especially if you have Tiaris as 1 of your healers.

Strategy:
1. In order for me to attack/tank with 'Molten' Armor' debuffs applied, I need to have -20% ATK & INT on the phoenix. Anytime I forget, a character will die. The debuff comes from Elwin (roar), & Almeda (Tornado, Ultimate Quip, & Quip Master talent).
2. You need to test the fight multiple times to figure out what your characters can survive with. For example, I found out that:
Ledin can tank a hit with 2 molten armor & 0 radiate or 1 molten armor & 3 radiates.
Elwin can tank a hit with 1 molten armor & 3 radiates
Leon can only tank a hit with 0 molten armors.
3. Check who the random molten armor landed on each turn, and plan accordingly. Balance out the molten armors via use of Leon's Chivalry, and Liana's again.
4. Make sure to avoid the meteor AOE blast of the Shika mages, because that will be a team-wipe when combo-ed with the phoenix AoE!

I was going to say the same. Explaining choices in how he moves and places units and knowing to watch out for stacks helped me get through this map my own way.

Nice one, but love the quickest version with Elwin / Ledin / Matthew / Sophia / Liana. Flying Matthew helps a lot with Jormungandr's Eye and you can also equip an other Charon ( lvl 20 is enough ) on yours healers just to hard debuff. You should also think about 2x2 enchants on Ledin and not a full 4. ;)

- 0 Charons (I've wanted one for a long time, just like Ragnarok, and Last Rites, and Extreme Magic Bow, and the list goes on and on...) - No Flyer Matthew. - Currently building up PvP gear sets, so enchants (and gold) are precious haha.

Very nice clear. I saw someone clear this using Matthew instead of Ledin I believe before the first native even became an issue. Insanely fast clear. This seems more doable for me......in a month or so lol.

yea the game is all about balancing your resources while managing to get the clears. double class mastery Matthew would be amazing for this, but at the same time, that's 2 rune stones!

Man, finally took this bird down. I swapped almeda out for tiaras after losing this battle 15x today. She really helped out with ledin recovering. Its definitely luck based match

Ahhh... finally beat it (after a few months of procrastination following a series of defeats) and it'd been bugging me for months, because it was the only one where I hadn't beaten 70, in addition to the only one where I hadn't beaten 65.

Tffff im lvl 70 max bonds and full ssr equip with acceptable enchants, but CANT CLEAR 65 phoenix! Howwwww? I have been rotating my team, trying out different strats and never worked! Im just frustrated, all other eternal temples cleared but this!

And the phoenix doesnt attack the one nearest to it (mine) but the one with molten armor debuff😢

@@Theguywithephonyname yeah, you can't follow a set strategy for this one because of the random debuffs. But the basic idea is: 3 DPS who attack only when they can, and 2 healers to keep everyone healthy. Almeda is really good because her talent and tornado can both reduce the phoenix stats. You could potentially even do 4 & 1 and give up almeda.

For Strategist team using ATK Intimidate on Vargas is actually better. Avoid attacking with Vargas at all since his role is to debuff atk every turn while keeping his HP high. So your Vargas should be running: Unbreakable, ATK Intimidate, Last Stand (other choices aren't impactful enough, Battle Cry is useless since you are not attacking).

This depends on whether your healer is Tiaris or Liana. If Tiaris, you can attack freely since you heal via her talent. If Liana, then yes, defend (but you have a slower fight).

I thought Assault boost only works up to 3 blocks? (20% for every block moved, up to 60%)

yep, that's how assault works. But that's not how Leon's talent works, which maximizes damage with 5 tiles moved.

Which hero can i use instead of Liana, that i dont have. Klose works, Maybe Tiaris?

You don't need Liana, except she does make things easier with Act Again. She basically gives you a do-over every 2 rounds. Tiaris would work because she can buff and group heal with Miracle and Attack Blessing, not to mention her talent comes in handy when your units get hit/deal damage.

That's why I always try to put a timestamp straight to the battle in every video description where I talk a lot initially. So people can skip right to the battle. However, it is important to cover it, because when I didn't in the past, people kept asking about unique mechanics of the boss, and my character's stats, bonds, and troops.

@@Nitroglycerine actually i do prefer this, since it helps knowing small quierks like, wich amuletts you use or gear etc, you can always skip forward so its a big thumbs up for me. i wished u did this on all your videos
