I want to know more about teaching online esl level 0 in the evening, distant learning through this method. If you have any thoughts please that would be a wonderful video. Or comment. Thank you
So if I understand correctly, the LEA process is: 1. Create a shared experience with the students. 2. Ask the students questions about the experience, writing down what they say verbatim. 3. Review the written narrative with the students, giving them a chance to suggest corrections to their writing. Is there ever a step where you suggest corrections yourself? Do you think the method is sufficient as a standalone ESL technique or would you suggest using it in conjunction with other methods?
I think in step 2, the teacher code switches, but orally. Even though she writes what the students say verbatim. After step 3, there should also be a 4th step where different forms of oral reading occurs, the teacher first models the reading; echo reading(students repeat after the teacher) and choral reading (students read along with the teacher). Followed by a 5th step which is the follow up, which helps with providing further practice.
