Can a night vision camera and screen improve night time driving? I ask the question and test the Lanmodo system.

Got to agree I don't think I like the idea of taking my eyes off the road to look at the screen especially if it isn't really showing much more than the headlights already do. Watching you drive down the country roads reminded me of driving down the Mornington Peninsula last time i was in Australia. (Damn watching your vids makes me homesick) Thanks for more great vids

Yes, Mornington Peninsula is similar (I used to live there), but the farm is much darker. Almost no light pollution at all. It is a peculiar product, as it works exactly as advertised, but having trouble finding the good use case 😬

@@LarsKlintTech it's crazy how different (& built up) it is now, we used to go down there every other weekend or so to see my grandparents 30 years ago.

Seems to me the screen is pointless, unless you have both front and rear and want it for parking (but most cars now have built in 360 cameras for that anyway) The only use I can see for the night vision is if you wanted 24/7 recording (recording outside while your NOT driving, so its dark) but for me just having cameras where you park would be simpler and not drain the car battery! Are you supposed to leave the screen in your car all the time though?! I like that many manufactures are building dashcams into their cars now, which much more sense and hides all the wires - although i hate that some are charging monthly for that!

Yeah, I am kinda with you here. For parking it could be useful, but battery discharge is a concern for me too. It does mean you have to leave the screen in the car all the time. I do have cameras where I park normally as well.

A Cyberdyne T-101 did a better job, but thanks for the review for things we may not need. -Unless both frontlights are missing, or you have to sneak home from a late night undetected.

Hahaha, my first Terminator comment!! 🤖😂 I should start a new channel: "You'll never need this".

Thanks for the review Lars! This thing is not something I'd use - the low-light frame rate and smeary video quality is utterly useless (to be honest, downright dangerous to use while driving!) - only use case I can think of would be a night time Llama cam? ;-)

Thanks Darren. I don't think the video quality is that bad, and for actual night vision it would work really well, just not when the headlights are on. Yeah, I have considered how I can reuse the camera 😏

Hi, one question: does it warns you with a sound when there is an animal near the road? Thanks.

No, there are no "smart" features like that.
