@@loiiysailor1177 speaking of her similarity with Starline, should Tangle finally have enough of Lanolin's callousness and speaks up saying that she's the root of the problem and then Lanolin snaps and attempts to justify her actions in a half-justifiable, half-self-righteous manner, Tangle would point out how similar she is to Starline "and look what happened to him"

I agree on the part where she takes things too seriously she needs to take a step back a bit and focus on helping her teammates when they need help on certain different situations. I think 🤔 that's why she's making mistakes because she likes to do things her own way. Teamwork plays a role helping out your friends 👍 Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Lanolin.

It's seems they're setting up a conflict between Lanolin and her teammates and the main Sonic group it's gonna be ugly

taking that to heart, perhaps in a later issue, we'll have Tangle (and hopefully Whisper too) finally calling out Lanolin for being a jerk and being the root of the problems and then Lanolin could get defensive and snap, revealling what she thinks about the restoration in a resentful and self-righteous manner. Lanolin: me? (adopts an angry face) ME THE PROBLEM? don't you DARE lecture ME on right and wrong. I've seen how the restoration has been working, and I've seen how everyone, even SONIC goes, all acting before thinking, all focusing on humanitarian efforts, and always making a MESS of thing, and the way you guys defeated eggman? reckless! and because of that we almost all got trapped in oblivion. YOU'RE the ones who are all a mess and being irresponsible, so i HAVE to push everyone in the right directing, so that NOTHING goes wrong NO ONE EVER feels helpless or gets hurt or loses the people they love like I did EVER AGAIN But then Tangle and Whisper throw the argument back pointing out how she's hurt people's feelings, how it's not actually doing any real good, especially the team, and even comparing her to Starline: Lanolin: how is what I'M doing wrong? I'M being methodical and cautious and making sure things go exactly the way thing SHOULD go, without any mess whatsoever Tangle: Starline thought and felt the same way that YOU did and even TRIED the same thing, and look what happened to HIM Admittedly I flip Flop in these king of situations, when i resent someone for how they act but see a tragic side to them, so please forgive me those who show leniency towards Lanolin (I myself am in the middle) As for Mr Thomas's picture of Lanolin and her Mother, I hope they DO make it 100% canon, as they NEED to make Lanolin more of a sympathetic character in spite of her current behaviour

@@loiiysailor1177 going over defence and criticism of Lanolin on the wiki, while I do have to agree that Lanolin should've listened to Silver and Whisper and been less harsh with them, as well as be more compassionate with team sonic because they could've been hurt, and she should've looked at both sides of both stories, by that i mean look into situations instead of assuming based on appearance, I do have to agree with some defence points as well. yes, Silver did act irrationally and Lanolin is, by all accounts, logical, hard-working, well-meaning and protective, and simply defended Duo out of sympathy and because she didn't want things to get out of control, and was wanted to keep things in order during the cleensweepstakes. she's not actually stupid or evil, just ignorant (not realising who the real enemy is), black and white, narrow-minded and inexperienced and needs to learn to cool off and realize that being practical and dutiful can only take you so far and that you need to balance it with friendship. trust in others and following your gut (though I do believe Whisper and Silver deserve more sympathy because they were actually right about Duo and the latter was framed). Lanolin might reach breaking point and then realise that she's gone a bit too far with her methods and ideologies before it's revealed why she acts this way (that mom picture better be canon), that way she'll feel some guilt even BEFORE Mimic's exposure so she'll be played half for sympathy and half for catharsis, with Tangle's stand and Mimic's exposure being the catalysts. (though I do have to admit that Mimic will have to mock her for protecting him and believing him over her teammates for the sake of humbling Lanolin, so sorry gal, ya had it coming)

and worst of all Mimic is encouraging her misplaced goals and ideals and recently increasingly bad behaviour. Lanolin better feel guilt BEFORE Mimic's reveal and said reveal to be the catalyst to her improvement and that of the Neo-Diamond Cutters

I don't think Whisper needs to be shamed. She was already suspicious of Duo but ended up second-guessing herself when Duo faked being hurt, and Lanolin constantly taking Duo's side without hearing what the rest of the team had to say. Plus, shaming the character that lost her previous team sounds like a bad move. Lanolin definitely needs to be shamed, tho. Once Duo shows his true colors, it's definitely gonna come back to haunt her.

@@aishalee4572 I suppose I got a wee bit carried away with Whisper, but still, she should not have been fooled. then again, it's like with Lisa Simpson the the episode 'Lisa the Iconoclast', Twilight Sparkle in the MLP episode 'A Canterlot Wedding, part 1' and Nicolaus Angel in 'Hot Fuzz', in which they end up second-guessing themselves, but then see that they were right all along. Whisper needs to get back on Mimic's trail and get second suspicions. how I cannot be certain, though I do have some theories. Thoughts?

she's already (accidently) put others in danger in her zeal to catch the phantom rider by using her bell wispon, breaking the glass track, so that when the cleansweep security stepped on it to grab the phantom rider, it broked under their weight, and she realised that afterwards judging by the shocked look on her face. if she only knew what was really going on with the race, then she'd know that team sonic were sabotaged and should not have been disqualified and that the phantom rider is not actually the villain, cleansweep is

Agree, she's the one who led the team, yet she doesn't listen to her own teammates.

@@MikeTheHedgehog I still feel for Whisper and Silver (especially since they were technically the ones in the right) even though I'd show Lanolin some leniency given the pressure and stress she's under. the problem is that she judges a book by it's cover and doesn't think to look within and is so by the book that while she's concerned with the safety of others she isn't considerate with the feelings, (of which Mimic is encouraging by being what Lanolin expect him to be and agreeing with her) and because of that, she ended up blaming Silver for something that wasn't really his fault, defended the right culprit and didn't check on team sonic's well being. she clearly needs to learn the importance of being open minded, not being solely reliant on evidence, listen to and trust others, consider the feeling of others and learn to lighten up and that sometimes it's necessary to take a leap of faith and make unorthodox decisions. they say the heart sees what's invisible to the eye. in the case of a major eye opener, other than mimic's reveal, how do you think Lanolin would get the wake up call to her own faults?

​​​​​@@RobertJames-i8j I could see things starting to change with Tangle full-on calling Lanolin out over her callousness toward Sonic, Tails and Amy - in particular, completely disregarding that they could have been badly hurt and not giving them a chance to explain themselves or even figure out what happened before immediately banning them - and potentially even going off on her own to help the trio regardless. That, I think, would be what gets Lanolin to really start questioning whether or not she's been doing the right thing, if she's alienated her own friends and teammates to such a degree.

@@alexv3375 Sooner or later it'll be Whisper turn to call out Lanolin, providing the Duo incident hasn't damaged her confidence in herself enough to make her reluctant to go against Lanolin again, which surely can't be the case as her confidence hasn't fully been damaged due to her suspicions of Surge and Kit and she;s sure to recognise how un-recognisable the Neo-Diamond Cutters are from the Old Ones and eventually realise that she actually WAS on the right track before, though her watching Surge and Kit could somewhat pay off as she'd figure out that they had something to do with the 'malfunction'. On a Side Note, could Clutch have a mysterious benefactor who'll turn out to be the surprise TRUE main villain? Could be Eggman, but in honour of Sonic x Shadow Generations, it could be Black Doom

@@Surgefan-140 I agree, she was more likable in the urban warfare arc, especially issue 58 when she was sympathetic towards Whisper and in issue 59 when she saved Tangle at the cost of her own freedom. And also, the way she helped gaslit Whisper in issue 64, makes me pity Whisper but also shame her a bit for falling for Mimic's trick and getting off his trail when she was so close. the writers better make Whisper get back on his trail, like with Lisa Simpson in Lisa the iconoclast, and then take him down (but with Lanolin delivering the final blow), though not before getting redemption from issue 53-54 for being a near-complete punching bag to Surge by having a rematch and win.

I don't know which part of her makes me more mad and annoyed. Her sense of stubborness, Her sense of pride, Or her sense of stupidity. It could be all the above.

Yes I agree with you and I hope more people call her out on her behavior. Tangle is the person in the friend group who's silly but who isn't afraid to call you out when you're just being mean. And for Whisper she needs to learn how to stand up to her. Like the first time that I saw her and that they were teaming up I said "okay let her cook." But as soon as I keep putting on more of these issues the more I regret my statement. Who disregards a complaint of a shapeshifting assassin. Sure Whisper and Silver's execution was a little bit messy but the claim was very serious since we're dealing with someone who is just as trained as Whisper if not more. She should have just asked him to just take off his gloves and see what he has under there. But for here she was just being mean. Like that's madly suspicious that it would just go haywire in the middle of the road without testing. Like Tails usually test his inventions before riding them. And before you say if Tails rushes his inventions dude Sonic Riders came in 2006 and we're in 2024. So I'm pretty sure that he had plenty of time to prepare this. But Lanolin just insulted tales and called his invention faulty. And I like how Mimic is siding with her so he can build her up. That is manipulation and gas lighting 101. Essentially she will be betrayed and as soon as she gets betrayed she will regret her decisions about what she's done. If anything I describe her in this one thing from proverbs. Pride goes before a destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Offensively the moment she's keep building herself up with the sets of superiority the more bigger and harder the fall will be as soon as it comes. She would lose team, her friends, and could be alone if Mimic gets to jump on her. And honestly I want that to happen to her she it doesn't change. Essentially it's just going to bite her back in the butt. She's going to get back stopped probably literally and figuratively.

this gives me vibes of Harriet Bree in RWBY volume 8, trust me, i've seen that and how she was sinking deeper and deeper into darkness until the near end, and now i see those same kind of self-righteous, more work less friendship personality in Lanolin. If Harriet could realise her own folly in the end, then the same would be for Lanolin

@@EzekielBread-fv1xc I suppose the revelation will hit her like a ton of bricks and she may become disillusioned for a few issues in a sympathetic way and taking a temporary leave of absence before coming to terms during a mini-series with her being joined by Marine the Racoon (It WAS going to be blaze, but thinking about it, Marine's been in Lanolin's shoes in not listening to her teammates, the difference being that she was acting before thinking while Lanolin was overthinking, and besides, Tangle and Whisper have already at least once been with Blaze and Silver respectively) and then coming back, helping save the day and taking back up her role as leader

yes, i could've been written a bit better yes, Whisper needs to get back on the case and believe on herself more yes, Lanolin needs to be put in her place before she can make up for her callousness alas, this was clearly necessary for the sake of character development, especially for Lanolin. just so you know, i'm in the middle between the detractors and the defenders as I can see both sides of the story, and while I feel that Lanolin needs to learn the hard way for the sake of catharsis, but I also hope she improves and becomes nicer, especially when Mimic is revealed

Whisper won't be relieved until Mimic is dead, plain and simple. The sooner he dies, the better.
