I know this wasn't intended to fool people but it took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize this was a game, but glad I'm not the only one hahah
This is a perfect example of "don't ignore your gut instinct." Like many here, I was fooled into thinking this was real for a while. But, there were numerous things that tugged at my subconscious and told me something was not right. The lack of gloves The front floorboard being spacious The front window having posts The top of the screen showing bookshelf and blinds The sound. The sound inside this car would be deafening. Many other things just made me think something was fishy. All of this aside, I was completely fooled for half of the lap. Completely. Amazing job, I'm jealous of your gaming setup. Nice video.
if you ignore the fact that there is a keyboard on the side, some books on the shelf and that the monitors and cables are visible yeah you kinda get fooled for a while.
I'm so buying everything needed to have this in my house. I just bought a 2017 M3 comp with Dinan S1 upgrade but I still can't get enough. Having this to play at night would give me all day driving fun.
Doesn't know shit, and top of that doesn't know there are no paddleshifters and mid-car seat placement in a 917, go back and study your race cars further kid
Very nice homebuilt cockpit, very immersive. Clever, as was said very few clues, see the room above the cockpit, notes inside the car never moved, No raring gloves, Paddles shifters available, but not use. All in all a AAA+++ for effort and effect.
The only thing missing from this virtual masterpiece is the simulated trackside daylight and tree shadows that flash by on the bonnet and car fenders inside the car too.
what finally tipped me off was (at approx 2:50) when he was coming around a bend and the spectators had a grainy look to them, sort like it was a game...
Trouble with this stuff, is that while it's cool technology, people are fooled by it. If you'd never seen the real deal you wouldn't be any the wiser...the implications are ominous

Thanks for the up. This is Porsche! I love 917K. It is a big fan from seeing the movie "Le Mans of Glory". The engine sound of Porsche is cool with bass. Ferrari was treble. I also want to drive! ! !

Holy fuck I was looking down track and didn't realize it was a sim until I saw the comments. The whole time I'm critiquing lack of gloves, how few corrections were needed, until he needed a big fast hairy correction, how unstable the car was under braking, how easy it got air and wondering what event had so many spectators ... damn I am a dumb ass. Great vid though. Two ungloved thumbs up!
Was half way through realised hey paddle shifts and rev limiter led's 1970s race cars didn't have these then as another poster said I saw the book shelves - great setup though
Game - look at the three monitors, the car moves around. Also, sounds like a V8. The pic of the car on the right is correct and sounds right for a flat 12
Bitchin'! Only real downside was the sound track, hearing the flat 12 screaming would have been awesome! Excellent job though dude/dudette,the finish of the tubing and raw fiberglass is just like the real thing.
Just really beautiful to watch... this car goes up there with the Legends like the Toyota GT1 and GT40.... in my mind on one of the best circuits that you can play with them

I wondered what sort of gear box it had. You cant change gear on a real one like that. And the cab looked a bit strange. Didnt realise it wasnt for real.
Windshield wipers don't , table legs , cpu on the left, blue light on right corners of all the screens, but really no gloves, the Gauge on top of the hood, no rattle, the track is brutal on the car. Are driving with all the assistance on, no tire warming. I don't get it, I'm probably just hating cause I never had that when I was young, and now to old to get gaming. Cool if you can compete. BTW. Thanks for sharing it was interesting to watch anyways🙃

By that, I mean, could a man learn the course in preparation for actually travellling to Germany to drive the real thing and expect to be fully prepared?
+WoodenYouKnowIt hello man tks for watching. This and iracing version are laser scanned, so you could say they are very accurate. So yes these sims could help you learn the track. If you are going, practice until you memorize all curves, bumps and elevation changes and have fun at the ring!
It will be a while before I can get set up for something like this as I have SO many other things on my plate right now. But I've already watched so many videos of the "ring that I've got many parts of it already memorized. And let me say that your approach to Adenauer Forst was spot on. Most people do not know the importance of diving deep into that corner at 1:46 in order to get set up for AF correctly. Way to go!
I agree with patmowag, I don't think the porsches had plywood dashes, and 3 video moniters,. and the sound is a bit electronic, OHhhhhhhhh.............lol
