Amazing how bad the smog was in the old days. Gotta admit that clamping down on industry, plus the crap that we have to deal with regarding our cars getting choked with smog devices has worked

The first portion of the 101 - covering Cahuenga Pass - opened in 1940. The full route between the SFV and DTLA opened in 1954. While lauded at the time, it has since made many people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.
