Hi Ricky! We actually planned all by ourselves. In the description, you can find the hotels we stayed at, the tours we joined, etc. Here are the tours we booked separately: ✨ Tours: 1. Husky tour - bit.ly/3hkH8tE 2. Snowmobile Northern Lights hunt bit.ly/3so6oph 3. Lappish Shamanism and Northern Lights - bit.ly/3so8eqe 4. Sauna experience - bit.ly/3K4NqKp 5. Northern Lights tour on a frozen lake - bit.ly/3HkxTnW We booked the hotels via booking.com. I advise you to use the mobile app since it offers some discounts. We went there in mid-January (08-15) 2022. In total, we spent 4500 euros, including one night in the Glass Resort. Skipping that would save around 500 euros, but if you have a budget, I totally recommend that experience

Great video, Thanks for sharing. I am curious to know the cost of your trip to Rovaniemi
@MintyThyme
@MintyThyme Год назад
Thank you! It costs €4000 a week for two adults. I would say this is mid-range, and there are definitely possibilities to save some money, like skipping the glass resort, renting a car instead of joining tours every night for the northern lights hunt, etc. :)

Hello! We traveled as a couple and booked only group tours since they are more affordable. ✨Here are the links to all the tours we had: 1. Husky tour - bit.ly/3hkH8tE 2. Snowmobile Northern Lights hunt bit.ly/3so6oph 3. Lappish Shamanism and Northern Lights - bit.ly/3so8eqe 4. Sauna experience - bit.ly/3K4NqKp 5. Northern Lights tour on a frozen lake - bit.ly/3HkxTnW You can find these and more useful links in the description :) We bought all of our clothing. You can see the links in the description. When you join a tour, they also provide additional layers. Hope you will also have the best time in Lapland!

Hello Layla ! Hope I wrote your name correctly :) First of all very informative video and I definitly took some advices from you. I have several questions though. I'm planning to go to Rovaniemi at the end of January - beginning of feb for like 8 nights of solo traveling at the moment. Is it too much for Rovaniemi and possibly it's surroundings? 1) Do you think renting a car to maybe travel outside a little bit from Rovaniemi is suggested? I saw the places you visited for Northern Lights were outside the city. I'm planning to take a tour for catching the Northern Lights via snowmobiles as you did. But if for some reason I won't be able to catch one with the tour I might want to try it myself without purchasing again the trip ( it costs 200 EUR for a single :( 2) Do you think a trolly suitcase + a backpack will suffice for the trip? I can do laundry in the Guesthouse lol 3) Frozen waterfalls are worth it ? Thanks :)
@MintyThyme
@MintyThyme Год назад
Hi Yosef! For me spending some any time in such a place is never too much. But, if you want to have a little bit different experience, I would advice to spend half of your time in Rovaniemi and half up in North, in Saariselka. 1) If you have experience in driving a car in such weather conditions, I would recommend it. Especially, to have more opportunity to see the northern lights. 2) For two adults we had one large (to pack snow boots) and one cabinsize suitcase. Try not to overpack. As a base, we were wearing wool clothing, and you really should not wash wool after a few wear. The same applies to ski pants :) 3) Did not visit the frozen waterfalls. But, if you are driving and have time, why not :) Enjoy your stay!

Hi Minty, Loved your video and the tips you shared with us. Is there public transport from Rovaniemi airport to Lapland and vice versa? If yes, could you share the link so I can see the bus timetable? As well, as for 7 days trip for 1 person. approx how much budget should I be keeping to spend time in Rovaniemi and Lapland, say the stay, food, and activities? Thank you.😊
@MintyThyme
@MintyThyme Год назад
Hi, glad you liked it. This is the website for the bus: airportbus.fi/en/ There is not fixed timetable from the airport, the bus is there for each arrival. For 7 days, last year in January we spent 1600 euros per person (excl. flight). there is a detailed budget reveal shorts in my channel. We usually had breakfast at home, and dinner at the tours we attended, so did not spent a lot on food. Tours is really up to you, we did a lot, but looking back I would definitely skip the ice fishing, and bought the multi day aurora hunt tours with a discounted price. Hope you enjoy your trip!

I just have few more questions: 1- Can you tell me how much it costs to Visit the Santa Claus Village (entrance fee ?) 2- Do we have to pay separately for all the activities that are inside the Santa Claus Village (Visit to Reindeer's, Snowman World, Rides with Reindeer's and Husky). If yes, do you Knox where Can I find the Price détail please ?

Hi, thank you! :) 1. Entrance to the Santa Claus village is free. You can wander around, meet Santa (without pics and video), for free. 2. You pay all activities separately, although sometimes there might be combination tickets with discount. All activities have different website. You can use this one to get to the pages of the activities you want to do - santaclausvillage.info/ 3. I used my phone. It is Iphone12.

It’s nice place , I plan to visit there on Early December 2022. May I ask you some questions? 1- For some activities like snowmobile and huskies do we book in advance?or we can book with hotel ? 2- if we need book in advance, May I know the web of booking ? And they pick up us in hotels or we need go to meeting point ? Look like you have a great time and was cool Vlog
@MintyThyme
@MintyThyme Год назад
Hi Eva! We booked everything in advance. There is always a chance that the tour can be full when you get there. Last winter, that was not the case due to covid restrictions, but I would still not risk it :) I looked for all the tours at www.visitrovaniemi.fi, then checked the reviews on Tripadvisor. When it comes to booking, I would advise you to use the tour's own website, since they offer some discounts and combination tickets. All of the tours we joined offered hotel/city pick ups :) They also provide additional layers of clothing at no cost. You can find the links to our favorite tours in the description :) Hope you will enjoy the Lapland as much as we did ✨

Indeed, it is harsh on the skin. I was wearing a balaclava, covering my face as much as possible, and using intense face moisturizer. The body shop vitamin E intense creme was sufficient for me.

Hi there guys, I’m from malaysia here, maybe planning to go to Rovaniemi for solo travelling since I haven’t been travel for 2 years. Few questions here: 1. May I ask that if I’m travelling to Finland with just cash without any debit or credit card , would it be ok? As I’m just a teenager, just travelling with cash , haven’t own a debit or credit card yet. 2. What type of buses u can get from Rovaniemi airport to Rovaniemi city ? Also I saw the Airport express buses has been temporarily halted their operations too . 3. If I on board the bus in Rovaniemi like example from Rovaniemi bus station to the Arctic glass igloo village bus station , can I pay with cash directly to the driver , without using any credit or debit card?
@MintyThyme
@MintyThyme Год назад
Hi, I will answer the questions based on my experience )) 1. Cash is accepted everywhere. We paid for the bus from the airport, for groceries, etc., by cash. If you want to join some tours, you have to prebook them online via credit card. You can always check with the tour provider if you can reserve a place and pay on the spot. 2. We used express buses. I think they get active closer to the peak season (I think mid November). There are also other busses, also active all seasons, but they include more walking :) 3. Honestly no experience, so I don’t say something misleading :) Enjoy your trip!
