Awesome idea using a Dremel and rubber abrasive to speed up the process! The whole process is amazing! Thanks for sharing this!

A few years ago, I started looking for an opportunity to make my own tool for repairing pairs of linear movement of machine tools. When I discovered the Johanson tile sets with one micron steps, I realized that this was the key to solving this problem. I immediately bought several sets, and then everything went smoothly.

classical work , history was made with men like you. I’ve seen scraping, but the Dremel rubber head is so genius. Are there coarseness on those? ❤ ur great work

Hello! Thank you for praising my work. Somehow I needed to process hardened steel, I tried a dremel with a ceramic tip, but it worked too aggressively and vibrated, then I tried a rubber abrasive, it turned out well. I have seen these rubber "tips" with different sizes of abrasive "grain".

I came up with this device when I wanted to better level a flat slab. But surely such things have already been used. Who knows, tell me where.

Your repeat-o-meter looks like it have 3 "feet" one in each end, and one where you have the hole (flex point?) Do you have some dimensions ? Overall lenght, holesize and wall thickness ? Ваш Repeo-O-метр виглядає так, ніби він має 3 «ноги», по одній на кожному кінці, і одну, де у вас є отвір (точка згинання?). У вас є якісь розміри? Загальна довжина, розмір отвору і товщина стінки ?
@gena_bazarko

@@gena_bazarko I would love to get your repeat-o-meter dimensions. What will be the "best" material to build it from ? Cast iron ? mild steel ? tool steel ?`/ Я хотів би отримати ваші розміри повторного вимірювання. З якого матеріалу буде «найкраще» його побудувати? Чавун ? м'яка сталь? інструментальна сталь?

I will email the sketch and dimensions. I used plain structural steel, as it was easiest to find at a scrap metal collection point. She fits in this case.

Very nice video again! You should watch ROBRENZ RU-vid channel where he is lapping a granite surface plate with a plate like yours. He is using diamond powder i think anyway he has also a lot of good videos. 🇺🇦🇸🇯

I know the Robrenz channel, it's one of the best channels. I saw him make a stove. I will also make a granite slab, but I will use a different leveling technique. I have the components of this work ready, but I will have to wait for spring and a stable temperature. Now I can't heat my workshop.

@@gena_bazarko Okay it will be interesting to see more of your videos! I have a small granite surface plate that i bought from Microtech in Ukraine that i just use for inspecting small car parts and other things. I am not a professional when it comes to measuring techniques like this so i do appreciate the videos like yours and the other RU-vid creators have made 👍 I do measure a lot of diesel engine blocks with bore gauge and so on.

@@endrekalvenes8460 I, too, sometimes repair my car. I have done a complete engine overhaul on numerous occasions. Because I am familiar with precision measurement techniques, I use unusual techniques when repairing an engine. I even have some footage on this topic. Maybe someday I'll publish it.

What would you recomend for cleaning dried oil out of gauge blocks? I run out of ideas, acetone or alcohol is doing nothing

If it does not wash off, then this is not dried oil, but corrosion (.

@@gena_bazarko It seems like oil, a very old one. This set is made in soviet union, if i scrape It off theres still a mirror like finish below. Should i scrape It off with plastic tool or perhaps ultrasonic cleaner is better?
@gena_bazarko

If it scrapes off, then I would try wooden, bone, can be made from coconut or walnut shells, or hard plastic. I also have similar tiles, I washed them with gasoline for lighters, but the stains remained, I'll try to scrape them too.
