Laptop battery not charging. Bad charger or port?

Hello, thank you for a nice video. You're stating 4% difference as acceptable. May I have a question please: I've bought a replacement adaptor from china to power my appliance rated at 11V/2.73A. Adaptor was supposed to be 11V/3A. I believe higher amperage should be fine. But when I test with multimeter I'm getting 12.34V. I've discussed this with the seller and he is claiming the without load it shall show higher voltage than on the sheet. Is this an acceptable difference(+12%)? Or I'm risking to burn my device.

AWESOME INFORMATIVE video. My laptop has an output of 19v but I wasn't aware of this information before I bought a 12v charger. ZERO performance.

Looks like I'm having the same issue, but in my case multimeter always showing 19V, despite that charging only works after doing something with a cable. I have already bought the second charger previously(and it is the same issue again) so now I will try to fix it myself.

Mine I think is the charger port. If I push my power cord in, it will charge but as soon as I let it go, it stops charging

thanks, i did not had a multimeter so i had difficulty figuring out if it was the port or the wire, but as soon i started messing around with the wire it became obvious it had a similar problem to the one on this video

I'm having the same problem where it only charges when I hold it in a specific spot sometimes that spot stops working and it works somewhere else but I got a brand new charger and it still doesn't charge I haven't been able to find a solution that actually deals with the port itself

Hey, thx for the vid! I tried it but the outcome seems weird. At the mutimeter, it clearly shows that the charger is working(it shows the indicated volts) but as I plug it in the laptop, it doesn't work. Any thoughts regarding this?

i have a dell latitude e6540 and after i did some upgrades, my battery is NOT charging when it says plugged in and charging! i replaced a dead cmos bios battery, i tried anothe ac charger and ran the diagnostics and ALL passed!! i will be replacing the dc jack and get a new battery and hope i can still use my pc with windows 11 and i have the blu ray dvd player on it!! i will hate to lose this pc😢😢😢

Hi l like your video I have problem when the charger is plugged to the laptop it's not charging at all , so I checked the voltage of the charger like you did with the voltage meter while it's plugged to the outlet I got zero voltage, so does that mean if I get a New charger that will likely solve the problem, please let me know if you can ,thank you.

Hey, very useful video! However don't have a multimeter - my charger needs to be constantly moved around to charge. When I try gaming it doesn't connect at all ... From your experience is this likely due to a faulty charger ? I don't see any obvious damage to the port and I ran diagnostics which showed no problem with the laptop battery Thanks !

I felt that the video was not completed as the heading suggests. I was expecting to also see if it was not the charger that was the problem, but the charging port itself and how this would of been diagnosed.
