More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Aretha, Shirley Bassey, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 10,000+ attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for 200+ songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music, and is at the source of the melodic line. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish and grand mother on father side is dutch, but she also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( the father of her mother is from Detroit). She had been raised in Sicilia first for 7 years then in Belgium so she speaks both italian and french as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She only moved away from opera to pop because she is first and foremost a songwriter. After her Eurovision participation in 1988 (4th), she really started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She had been living for years in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship. She moved to Sicilia end of 2022. She became very famous in Quebec in the early 90s with several double platine records and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and was number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary, packed with masterpieces (covered by many great vocalists later on). But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is absolutely massive in Russia for instance. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months and become a recurrent in the local singing contests since then. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), Linda Eder, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: • I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. • He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara. Out of my mind I can list: ○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version) ○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know") • She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love". • And she covered "Love is like a dream" before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva). • Finally, they also performed "Ti Amo Cosi" together, in trio with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo then again later with Dmitri and Alina Yarovaya, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy: Igor and Dimash connected after his Adagio cover, also endorsed by Lara. Igor came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him after it. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration (singers from every region in the world: from China and Taiwan, to Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Netherlands, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Italy, France, Belgium, Norway, UK, USA, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Central Africa, …) ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Charice Penpengco (Adagio), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Adagio), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Gigi de Lana (Broken Vow) ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know), ○ Il Divo (Adagio) ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow) ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Pauline Aguirre (Adagio)), ○ George Peris (Broken Vow, Humana), ○ Vitas (Adagio), ○ Wanessa Camargo (Love by Grace), ○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio), ○ Jeck (Je T’Aime), ○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio), ○ Anne Sila (pas sans toi, Tu es mon autre), ○ The Canadian Tenors (Adagio), ○ Anna Eriksson (Je suis malade), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio), ○ Sarah Naura Irbah (Mademoiselle Hyde), ○ Elisabetta Rinaldi (Adagio), ○ Alyona Yarushina (Adagio), ○ Marie Payet (Pas sans toi), ○ Laurh (Immortelle), ○ Inger Lise Hope (Adagio), ○ Håkon Sønsterud Tollefsrød (Broken Vow), ○ Flora Tandi (Bambina), ○ Cindy Chao (Yeliel My Angel), ○ Majda Roumi (Adagio), ○ Abraham Mateo (Adagio), ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Russel Watson (Adagio), ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you) ○ Annointed (Love by Grace), ○ Sevara Nazarkhan (Je t’aime) ○ .... NB: Lara did cover Caruso , Je suis malade, and Love by grace, these are not her originals, but I mention these here as the related artists were attracted to cover it again after listening to Lara’s version. Today, Lara still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature. In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada. She completed the europe part in September/October 2022 and I attended a concert from this tour. It was packed and she was again spectacular. On April, May, June 2023 she had again some wonderful concerts in Tbilissi, Georgia, then in Ouzbekhistan, Kazakhstan, Romania. She is about to release a new album and just completed another popular tour in eastern europe (Czech Republic, Moldavia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkiye, Hungary) and in Canada in april-june 2024. She also appeared as a guest in some big events such as Hauser’s concert in Royal Albert Hall (May 9th 2024). Then, after some rest and a few TV Shows, she will tour France in 2025. The first song of her new album (titled "Ta Peine" - Your Sorrow) was released late January 2024 and is a success in France. Her album is expected to be released in fall 2024. Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
Thank you, if it's too long for others. They can go to the next comment. This is golden information and shows her milestones. Beautiful talent indeed! Sad to see that Celine Dion's team pushed her away from us market. I could've heard of her before. She is more talented for sure and we know Celine has talent. Glad I was able to learn of her finally.
She is the best female vocalist ever! I love the key changes and how that only enhanced the song more! Plus one of my favorite moments is where the lyrics say, my dream surrounds you. The texture of the way she delivered the word surround, sounds like she did surround the man she sings about. Request: Perdere L’ Amore
Barbra is Lara’s idol and Lara made several covers of Barbra’s songs. You can check her famous Yentl medely rendtion for instance: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zW8lalHMwxk.html But Barbra praises Lara and also covered a song written by Lara, Broken Vow, in some of her concerts.
@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 yes indeed. Lara has made legendary duets (I think especially to her duets with Maurane, Johnny Hallyday, Laura Pausini, Josh Groban, Michael Bolton, Dmitri Hvorostovsky), she also performed in duet with a few of her other childhood idols (Nana Mouskouri, Phil Collins, Ray Charles, …) but she never sang in duet with Barbra indeed. It’s a pity, also because we know that Barbra praises Lara. For instance, Barbra used their common friend David Foster to invite Lara to a dinner in a restaurant, in order to discuss with her about her rendition of "Je suis malade", as Barbra was very impressed by Lara’s emotional performance there.
There is Streisand, Carey, Houston, Dion ..... they are great performers..... but i find Lara the most pleasing to listen to .... her live performances are just amazing .... Lara doesn't just sing... she becomes part of her songs story..... just sensational..... and her song writing ability is too often overlooked. No other female performer moves me like Lara and I'm so glad to have found her... Thanks for your music Lara.
Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Charice Penpengco, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , … They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bqoS-KOLV_4.html Her italian version is also amazing. A famous italian version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qf7xcMN-TYI.html Or you can check her recent excellent renditions: - in Zagreb, late april 2024 (italian) : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-06WOD2AxTTM.htmlsi=pXrU2vQ1Lrca2PTs - In London, Royal Albert Hall, with Hauser playing cello, on May 9th 2024 (english): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ikWpOJT4y9g.htmlsi=WSoA4RXiw-TMmRNv
MORE Lara please‼️‼️❤️ Without a doubt one of the best, yet most underrated in the USA, female vocalists EVER‼️ SO much passion in every song she sings… and her incredible range‼️ Lara is right up there with Barbra, Celine, Kristina and Whitney and should be a legend and icon like the others. This album/CD has many great songs. 👍🏼
@@lauriesweeney8952 I figured as much. He was saying he couldn’t remember the name of the song he had heard. I assumed it was that one. Thanks for introducing him to such a great artist!
I’ve been waiting for this one to cross your path. She’s like no other. There is a LOT MORE especially from that concert series. Don’t let another year go by. She’s worth it! Enjoyed your reaction
This song was my introduction to Lara, decades ago. Recorded her on VHS, some international music show and literally wore out the tape rewatching her performance. Remains my fave, to this day, and still brings tears but she's magnificent no matter what she sings.
Lara Fabian is masterclass and beyond. My nr one of female singers. I cant take my eyes from her. She is spellbinding. Great reaction . Thank you. I saw her in Tallin for 2 years ago soon She is still going strong. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.
She did perform in the States: she shared stage with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Beyonce, she performer at events like Miss Usa, she was invited in talk shows such as Jay Leno’s, she made duets woth Josh Groban or Michzel Bolton, she was invited by David Foster to his concerts and he said "she is top of the heap of world’s great voices". But her US career was sabotaged by Celine’s husband and producer, René Angelil, who forced her record company Sony to move her away from the ballads lane. Lara was then promoted as a pop dance artist, she was #1 during 58 weeks in US club dance charts with "I will love again". But she was not satisfied with this inflection, as a vocalist and songwriter, broke with Sony to become her own producer and left the US music scene. She is a legend in orher world regions. She only tours in the US from time to time but her concerts are packed when she appears there. She for instance had several sold-out Carnegie Hall concerts in NYC.
She's had several tours come through the States in the past 10 years (I was luckily enough to have attended them all). She most likely will return again after her next album comes out later this year. 🤞🏼
I stumbled upon her a couple of years ago, and I totally fell in love with her voice and her passion. Next, "Caruso" from the same concert. Spectacular.

Finally Lara, thank you!! Just like you did Zeppelin. Do Lara. Always appreciate you brother. Lara is the greatest voice on planet earth, and she's gorgeous !
Another fabulous performance by Lara Fabian worth checking out is 'Je suis malade." Amazing vocals and emotions. It will give you shivers. (best to get the video with close captioning set up for English.
Fun fact : The music this song is based on is the Adagio by Albinoni, a theme often played at funerals... It's less sinister and much brighter when Lara sings!
The magician of our pain and suffering Lara, you are the voice, the songwriter and composer of the 21st century. Not sufficiently recognised as such We the Fans must shout it out loud.
From Lara with Love from 2001, which is where this clip came from, is the most awesome television special you have never seen. It has been available on youtube, but don't look for it Salvo, because you are about to be swamped with requests from it. Lara just performed in the 2024 Olympics pre show duetting Je Suis Malade with Slimane. The vocals were fantastic, but their expressions were weird. Not the weirdest thing about the ceremonies, but none the less...
Ciao, tanti saluti.
Lara wrote the lyrics on this old classic music composition "" Adagio"" in English and in Italian. I like more the Italian version, Italian is a more colored language. Lara is always on its best in live performances, Her emotional performances are always magnificent, always sublime and heavenly, in any language she sings!!! Many talk always about the lyrics. The the only thing that stands out about Lara is her very beautiful, very strong but always velvety tone and sound of her voice in the whole 4.1 octave range. No vibratons in her voice Her emotional and captivating performances ...The endless breath control and effortless singing even in the high notes. Lara's performances can be called minimalistic. Fabian does not have backup dancers. She wears a strict dress code, light makeup, no flashy fingernails, and usually not one or a minimum number of pieces of jewelry on stage. Her unique very strong but velvety 4.1-octave voice (lyric soprano) whit an exceptional nearly endless breath control what results in the seamless connections of words and phrases of the lyrics, that is the only thing that the audience receives and what captivates the audience
Hwo knows Lara knows she is the best female singer live ❤. She wrote the words for this song , the melody is composed by an italian composer , after Lara wrote words for this imediatlly was a hit here in Europe & others started to do covers ❤
Thats how you react to a wonderful singer. The other reaction I heard, the guy's interrupted, every other word. Great reaction, to a wonderful singer. Thank You
Your fussing with your button during the high note is the closest I've seen to you clutching pearls. LOL I loved it! One of my favorite reactions. Kudos.
Adagio first appeared as an instrumental in 1685, and so it remained a strictly instrumental piece played during Opera Intermission’s. Overtime it has been rewritten, primarily in keys. Lara wrote the lyrics she just sang, when she was approached to write lyrics for this vintage/classic Italian musical piece. She said, are you crazy? No. No. Eventually, she conceded releasing English & Italian at the same time. Then Lara released French & Spanish Lyrics later.
She is a fabulous singer. How lovely. She sent congratulations to Dimash for his cover of this song on the Chinese competition show The Singer. Also earth shattering. I know you react to him, just not sure if you reacted to him singing this. Good luck 😊❤
Great reaction to such an amazing performance and congratulations on 90,000 subscribers! You did a reaction to Je Suis Malade a while back. Watch it again it is incredible! I recommend the following songs to react to. You're not from here, Broken Vow, Caruso and Perdere l'amore. They are amazing like all her songs! Greetings from London 😀

xxx-FYI: She’s absolutely beautiful at 54 - LARA (not Laura) Fabian (Fabyanne) with links: Lara Fabian is a Canadian (Québécoise) of Belgian birth and Italian/Franco/Flemish cultural heritage. Lara studied piano, composition, and voice at a Brussels Conservatory for a decade. Lara is a full lyric soprano with a vocal range that spans four octaves (A5, B4, BB4, C3, C5, C#5, D5, E5, EB5, F5, F#5, G5) in live performances. She is multilingual; she speaks Italian, French, Spanish, and English and has sung in 12. Lara, who describes herself as a songwriter/singer, creates a high emotional connection with the listener. She has a discography of over 400 songs, has sold over 25 million records, and plays at sold-out venues worldwide. She lives with her husband and daughter in Montreal, Brussels and Sicily. I’m a ‘fan’ because of her high level ‘EQ’ (emotional intelligence) expressed in the text of her songs. La raison pour laquelle je suis un « fan » de Lara Fabian est son « QE » élevé, qu’elle exprime dans le texte de ses chansons. One of the top 2 or 3 female voices live for me. Whitney Houston is another back in the day and nowadays Cynthia Erivo, but there's something about Lara that is just INSANE. Wait till you hear her from the same concert doing Je Suit Malade, Caruso, You Are Not from Here, Broken Vow.... Enjoy..... You're Welcome!
🇨🇦 Lara co-wrote the lyrics, and if you really want to learn more about this SuperStar, you should read ALL the comments from Eric Sicard ! This is only one of over 200 songs in Lara's repertoire ! In fact, go back to the first one you reacted to and find Eric's comments ! You want more ? then I recommend "Quedate" in Spanish, "Caruso" in Italian, and "You're not from here" in English ! She sings in 12 different languages which is one reason why she is probably better than Celine Dion ! 🇨🇦
I recommend you to check "Je suis malde"; "Broken vow", "Perdere l'amore", "Caruso", "You are not from here", "Requiem pour un fou ft. Johnny Hallydey", "Je t'aime encore", "Mademoiselle hyde", "i guess i loved you" all live
This is actually a piece of classical music many popular artists add their own lyrics to. It's such a beautiful piece ( perhaps my favorite) and Lara's version is out of this world! I absolutely love it!!! Another version that is also quite beautiful is Sarah Brightman's version called "Anytime, Anywhere." Do take the time to listen to the original classical piece and i hope you'll react to Sarah Brightnan's version too. As i said completely different lyrics but the same melody! The only thing better than Lara Fabian singing "Adagio" in English, is Lara Fabian singing "Adagio" in ITALIAN!!! It's on the same album. It's perfection!!!
Hey, you're doing? Lara is the Queen of resonance, breath control, phrasing, the best composer and stories teller. That's why she's known as The Ring. Trained to be an Opera Singer for 10 years, but decided to compose and performe Pop songs. Fluently in 4 languages and has already sang in 12 languages perfectly. You should react to her singing Adagio 2 months ago with the Cellist Stjepan Hauser, she also sang Caruso with a new version Higher than usual, at the same concert. It was outstanding!!! The key change in the middle of a huge long belt is one of the most amazing things ever heard....and I'm old. Unfrickin unbelievable. Good call. You're right. One of the top of the list of special talent. She feels every note and we are all the better for it.
