Lara’s gentle tone in this song is so soothing to the ears. Those who complain about her Hebrew pronunciation should imbibe a little of her own humility and be grateful she attempted it.
When was the last time Barbra Streisand sang in Israel... in Hebrew? I miss Ofra Haza (her soul is resting in peace). She, too, was magical and could sing in many languages - 1/2 Israeli 1/2 Yemenite and bring people together - Arabs and Jews - the world. I think she and Lara would have loved one another.

I, too, do not understand how anyone could be negative about a singer who speaks so many languages and whose is so beautiful - not only in physical attributes but in her talent as well. I am not an Israeli, I do not speak French, or Spanish, or Russian or Israeli (Yiddish?) as Lara does. I am not even fluent in Italian, which is the land of my ancestors. I understand a few words, but certainly cannot admit to being fluent. Her version of "Je Suis Malade,", actually urged me to study French. It's difficult, but I'm trying. When Giora Linenberg played the song for her, I felt that it was magical. I recently discovered that Giora was also a composer and wrote Ce Qu'il Reste and I am addicted to it. The melody is so poignant, so perfect, that I am moved to tears every time I hear it. You are so right, Lara Fabian Serbia. What is wrong with people?? How can you not appreciate Lara's voice and her efforts to learn so many languages so that her audiences feel not only a musical, but a national connection with her. It is so sad that some people can be so derogatory toward others who are endeavoring to entertain with sincerity and awesome talent. Her critic must be a very unhappy, troubled person to be so cruel. I wonder how many languages he knows?!! I just noticed - on this page alone, there are posters who are French, IsraelI, Spanish,, Russian, English, and Italian. What a compliment that is. BRAVA , LARA, - BRAVA!!

Alexander Schwartzman в корне не соглашусь. При всём уважении к Ларе, лучшие у нее многие исполнения (Маладе, Же Тем, и некоторые другие). Но эту песню непревзойденно исполняет все-таки Ishtar. Послушайте ее и Вы почувствуете огромную разницу в чувствах и качестве.

C'mon, she just performed this song reaaaally good! Maybe NAOMI SHEMER sang it much better, that's ok I respect it, the original songs will always be the best. But Lara did a great job singing it. Thanks Lara.
