Singing this big song is not easy. This song is not about high notes alone, it is about the message and the sincere emotion both vocals and body language ( face, head to toe, yes, can one sings with its toes? yes, it is the subtle dance on the feet ) that wrap up the delivery of this song. Lara did a fantastic job in this song, not over sung or showing off high notes, it is just well balanced, well done sincerely.

I "discovered" Lara no more than 5 years ago (I had heard her name before, yes, and some song, but without paying attention to it) when I heard and saw a video with a live version of Je suis malade, and from there, I became his fan. But I must admit that I had never heard this song performed by her. Elle est vraiment spectaculaire. Voix... incroyable, interprète... incomparable.

People comparing her to Whitney Houston 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄. Yes she was incredible but so is Lara and many others. This woman is amazing, if you never listened to her songs Adagio and Love by Grace, do and you’ll see what I mean. She’s an extremely underrated singer. Whitney at least got the recognition she deserved but Lara Fabian never has.

Judging from pure vocal technique, this version is unsurpassed. To each his own (I personally like Dolly's and Linda Ronstad's versions best), but Lara is just textbook vocal perfection.

I may prefer Whitney’s cover of this song more than Lara’s, but, IMHO, you have to be an absolute expert on the minute details of tone, note differences, voice fluctuation, etc., to determine which cover of these 2 is actually better; anything else is just subject to personal preference. Wow, this was amazing to listen to.
