My God, this song is so beautiful. One of the best Emiru ever wrote. Despite the fact that they had that much more of a budget on Fierté, Setsurenka easily trumps Ano Hito Wo... in my book. The compositions speaks much more to me somehow and Kamijo sings it very well. I like Emiru's Solo Album but I wish I'd like it more with some absolute bangers like Territory or The Far Eastern Love or something as pretty and romantic as Setsurenka :/
It really is very beautiful! And I do agree that some aspects of this song are better than some aspects of Ano Hito, especially in colour variation. What sadly sets this song back a lot for me, and limits my enjoyment a bit, is that the music production/recording of this song is so bland, very far from for example an X JAPAN ballad, or even Ano Hito. As you said, this can be attributed to a much lower recording budget. This song has so much potential to be super great. For example if this song would be recorded with a big name producer, with real strings, with fuller, punchier drums, with a real piano, with much more dynamic range, and maybe some more EQ and reverb on the voice, and more subtle guitar, it could have been a big hit, because the composition, arrangement and performances are really there! But still, even like this, this is a really beautiful song that I enjoy listening to. I haven't listened yet to EMIRU's solo album! It's ANUBIS right? I should buy it some day. And yes, these two songs are RIBBON bangers!!! hehe
@@cantavanda The instrumentation on Ano Hito is of course flawless but I feel like it is a bit more predictably written as a mainstream kind of grand pop rock ballad. And Kamijo's vocals (don't get me wrong I still like the song and adore the album and his overall vocal work!) are a bit too whiny for my taste. The subdued, dainty singing in Setsurenka (and the latter Lareine as a whole) conveys the fantastical vibe of the Lareine at that time very well imo. Emiru's solo album is sort of a continuation/sequel to the first and only Anubis album. I guess the band turned into a solo project because there weren't any band activities besides recording anymore since basically that Anubis album (maybe even earlier). All the musicians are ex. Anubis (even some ppl of a way earlier line up), including the second Anubis vocalist. Do listen to it if you have a chance, there are some pretty moments but I feel that there are some issues as well and besides Lareine, Ribbon has been his best other project, which is a shame since it was so short-lived. Kanzaki>Anubis first singer>Anubis second singer imo. Maybe if he would have stuck with Kanzaki like Sui and Mizaly stuck together, I would have loved everything he ever put out to death, who knows :D. I only recently and finally got my hands on a copy of Beautiful & Resistance, which I simply love. It really grinds my gears that I will most likely never listen to ther final song, finale. Regarding Emiru's solo album, I could point out some more specific criticism but I would not want to spoil anything and rather let you form your own point of view, if you ever listen to it. Anyway, sorry for rambling so much :D
@@aerismalusderis8459 I totally understand what you mean about Ano Hito! I also love the soft cosy singing in Sets. Thanks for the info about EMIRU's activities after LAREINE! It's quite weird how I've never checked it out after loving LAREINE for so many years lol! KANZAKI is amazing, I love RIBBON, but also his earlier band MARRY+AN+BLOOD, and his later solo project. I do own the RIBBON finale CD! I will send you my rip via email if you want! It's my second favourite RIBBON song besides the masterpiece FAR EASTERN LOVE.
@@cantavanda I guess one advantage Emiru solo has over Anubis is that there are some actual new songs (as well as the obligatory Emiru remakes) :D Anubis Myth has only remakes of earlier songs besides maybe one. Possibly, being the main composer for a band was overwhelming him or something.. Oh my God. It would honestly make my day. Thank you soooo much :D I suspect, finale by Ribbon is the prototype of the later Anubis song sharing the same name^^ Is there a way of dm'ing on RU-vid or should I post my E-Mail here?
